Beane can’t help himself he has to trade and I’m sure McD is in his ear stating “remember we need another DT, and make sure he’s not a run stuffer”

Exactly... convo... Brandon we need a DT... make sure he likes to be a b@$%h and can grab his ankles when the going gets nasty... got that!

Sanders led the defensive linemen at South Carolina with 50 tackles in 2024, and had sevens tackles for loss and four sacks. He logged six quarterback hurries and one pass breakup, and record at least three tackles in 9-of-13 games.

Against Ole Miss, he had seven solo tackles and in back-to-back games against Oklahoma and Texas A&M, he recorded at least two solo sacks and one sack in each game.

Not too bad, sounds on vs run and getting pressure.

the most promising thing is that the scouting reports indicate he is not elite at either, but also has bad form.  If they can fix the form (pad level, etc) he could be an all-around stud.  But it seems like a gamble for sure.

2 myths already for a guy whose been a Bill less than 30 minutes...might be a new record.

  1. He is too small - Incorrect.
  2. We gave up 2 seconds to go up 6 spots - Also incorrect.  We moved back 10 spots in regards to our other 2nd.

TSW doing TSW things in peak midseason form :nana:

We went up 15 spots and dropped 10 spots. The only thing that makes the trade unbalanced is the 4th we gave up.

I just told my wife we drafted an interior D lineman. She understood and saves me the headache of explanation.

Maybe you can help me then. My wife doesn’t understand why teams would trade down to allow another team to draft in their place. I mean, who doesn’t get trading 45, 67, 109 and 233 for 41, 63, 145 and 237?  Fortunately, she was smart enough to marry yours truly.

I think he's drafted pretty well at DT.  Who don't you like?

He's one of those guys that hates everything.

It's like listening to WGR on a loop

To me, I don’t really care about 1t vs 3t. I think that’s very much overblown, even with Daquan Jones looking washed. You can get 1t’s anywhere.

What I do NOT get is the draft strategy of giving up capital for a player who the best reasonable expectation is “rotational piece” for the next 2-3 seasons.

i was a big Nolen fan. I wanted Beane to take him at 30 if he was there. I would be AGHAST if he traded this years 1 and next years 1 to get him. That’s just poor strategy.

It’s fine to trade up for a BTJ when you have no WR on the roster. It would be fine to trade up for Sanders if Eddy was traded. But otherwise it just seems like bad resource management especially for a player I don’t particularly like. Jmo ofc

This^

This regime is all about filling the cupboard with D line depth but when it comes to WRs, one per year is fine in the draft, don’t worry we will overpay for someone else’s retread, and lastly who needs speed or WRs that can actually separate 🥳

Sanders gets us off the field, you'll quickly forget what we gave up.

We were like 27 or 28th in 3rd down defense last year.....again, literally everyone is trying to copy the Eagles blueprint right now.  I could care less if Sanders plays 30% of snaps, as long as he (and others) gets us off the field on 3rd down.

A winning argument for bad strategy isn’t “what if it works out this time.”

Substitute ‘Kiper’s Board’ for “the industry”. Beane needs to her “his guy” foe value. Shouldn’t be that hard with a guy rated where Sanders was. On many mocks. Including our hero, Joe Marino.

Will Johnson

Nic Scourton

Tyliek Williams

Walter Nolen

Trey Amos

Were all either a round higher or lower on our hero Joe Marino’s big board than where they wound up being drafted by NFL teams.

I feel like this is an absolute reach. An undersized defensive lineman.

I was reading comments from Gamecocks fans,  most thought he was an average player.  Beane has picked two straight players that are undersized guys,  this guy reminds me of Boogie who was another 2nd second bust that they talked up and no one heard about for talked about before the draft

Why waste our second rounder for a reach player?

Edited----- I give Beane an A based on his 3rd & 4th rounders.  D-line is looking like it could become dominant
