I think what matters most is if he will end up being a good player or not.  Doesn’t matter as much that we have other 3 techniques, if he plays well he will get a lot of playing time.

totally agree.   I just don't see him displacing Oliver at 3T, and Oliver was a terror with a proper 1T.  I hope Sanders is a beast, but the lack of 1T exposes us to defending 3rd and short.

Can the Bills gets out of Larry's contract and cut him this summer, or is he a roster lock? Really don't see a point in having him here. We still need to add a 1T which would put us at 6 DTs.

Amazing - this kid has been a Bill for all of 10 minutes and already has a false fan myth - "He is too small"

I don't know who needs to hear this (although it seems to be most of you) - but he is not undersized or small...not to mention he just said he is comfortable playing at 310 without losing any of his explosiveness.

That is neither undersized or small.

Dude looks long and strong to me.

To me, I don’t really care about 1t vs 3t. I think that’s very much overblown, even with Daquan Jones looking washed. You can get 1t’s anywhere.

What I do NOT get is the draft strategy of giving up capital for a player who the best reasonable expectation is “rotational piece” for the next 2-3 seasons.

i was a big Nolen fan. I wanted Beane to take him at 30 if he was there. I would be AGHAST if he traded this years 1 and next years 1 to get him. That’s just poor strategy.

It’s fine to trade up for a BTJ when you have no WR on the roster. It would be fine to trade up for Sanders if Eddy was traded. But otherwise it just seems like bad resource management especially for a player I don’t particularly like. Jmo ofc

Regardless of how people feel about the pick or the trade, he's gonna be a fan favorite in no time. His first step and lateral movement looks impressive. Maybe not the guy everyone wanted, but probably our best IDL already. The more you watch the more promising he looks imho.

#126 on Kiper’s big board….. I just had to keep scrolling.

Beane really was jonesing!

Why reference Kiper's board?  Kiper's board was put together by Kiper.  Beane's board was put together by Beane and his entire staff of professionals.  Do you think Kiper's board is better?

I think Kiper is a smart guy but remember when he swore that he'd quit his draft work if Jimmy Clausen didn't become a successful NFL quarterback?  His board means nothing to me.

Not understanding the hand wringing over the 2-2nds.  They moved up 15 spots on the front end and down 10 spots on the back end.

People just see the round and freak out

DL was massively underestimated by the draft community compared to where NFL teams viewed them.

We’re not even at 56 yet and theres not much out there if we stayed put.

Ok friends.

Our safeties are interchangeable

Our two LBers are interchangeable

Is it so hard to believe that maybe they want DTs who can play both spots interchangeably? Carter has already confirmed that's his plan for this season. Larry O has done both, Ed has done both.

TJ Sanders? 297-310 and does both.

Yes, he confirmed he played both 1T and 3T at 300+.  I don't understand these wet doorknobs freaking about about him being only 3T or "too small" because of clueless mocks, when DTs frequently drop a bit of weight to post better numbers in their shorts at combine.

I'm OK with TJ Sanders as a 3 tech, but this leaves me worried about run defense.  The Bills struggled to defend the run in 2024 and so far they've done nothing personnel wise to address this.

What?  Ed Oliver is by far our best IDL.

1987 was a long time ago. Teams aren’t running wing t and a ton of power O aside from like the Chargers and ravens. Only the 3-4 teams have these massive hulking NTs.

What everyone seems to want, just isn’t the game anymore. And isn’t the scheme here. They want guys who are versatile. Maybe they are wrong, but it makes no sense to smash your head against the wall about it.
