Sounds like you went into the draft with an open mind on Beane,  as your post comes across as very objective, but then he happened to  deeply disappoint you with THIS move.

So now you loathe him.

Based on one draft pick.

Don't worry, I think you will get over this soon and start to feel the good will again you have always felt for Beane and 'this regime'.

He's done nothing but hate on the Bills for years

One of the best parts of the draft is how we fans seem to think we know all the right moves to make. I myself turned down 9 NFL front office job offers in order to stay middle class.

I get the disappointment about not choosing a 1 tech but, still, this is my favorite comment!

That’s encouraging but I wonder how the Bills see him.

I will say if he and Oliver can generate pressure up the middle on pass downs, this defense could be lethal.

What I'm thinking is they may be starting to think Carter may be used a lot more at 1 tech. They also could look for the run stuffer in the 4th with defensive end still a possibility in the third

297 is 3 away from 300. If he was listed as 300 would posters still say "undersized"? He can gain 3 at lunch tomorrow. They can get him 10-20 lbs heavier if they want. It's all good

He played at 300+ this past year with plenty of reps at 1T.

A few things:

- They traded up for him.  Meaning the Bills wanted him, they didn’t settle for him.  Doesn’t mean he will be a good pick but they went and got their guy.

- He’s not a guy who plays in his 280’s.  He got that low to have better workout numbers.   He will be more of a 300-310 in the pros.

- This is a deep draft for DT’s.  There are still 5-6 other 1 techniques that are available and could end up being quality run stuffers in the NFL.  I suspect the Bills will get one with one of their next 3 picks.

Agree with your points, but I'm concerned about 1T and believe it was ridiculous to be coveting Sanders like this FO is.  Re: 1T, after they drafted Carter we thought the Bills would take one later, but never did.  Seems a wasted pick here with so many needs.

Who said anything about a future HOFer?

He’s a quality starter.

Everyone hated the Allen, Torrence, Bernard, Williams etc picks, so the vitriol over people calling for McBeane to be fired all but assures this kid will be a hall of famer.

The post I responded to that you quoted me?

The actual pick swap was listed earlier, but I se we gave up 212 points on the chart for 210 value. Pretty fair as cost is concerned.

So a swap & a two point variance,,

so what the Fuh k are these people whining about?

I havent checked the big board but if any of CJ West, Jordan Phillips, Cam'Ron Jackson, Jay Toia, Nazir Stackhouse are avilable, we have PLENTY of time to pick a big guy.

You can usually even find those guys on Sundays, imo

I'm talking about why people are wired the way they are - the drought years.

Years and years of people like you defending pics and they would always be wrong. Yet here you guys are always. I'm not pessimistic. I will praise that the bills draft very quickly when it hits. So far I don't like these pics.

This guy is in an undersized three technique. He will be third on our depth chart. That's not the kind of guy you drafted in the second round.

Literally this team was run all over and it's one of our biggest weaknesses.

I'm sorry after week 6 he would be fourth on the depth chart. Not to mention Hoecht will move around.

You said you would praise a draft when it hits. Then why don’t you wait until it misses (right now it is an unknown) before you criticize it. Does “wrong Josh” ring any bells?

Welp, there goes Collins

Yes, Bills were worried the Niners were going to take Sanders, that’s why they moved up. Collins is the Niners consolation prize, or maybe he was their guy all along, but Bills knew they were taking a DT.

This pick caused me to go look at our payroll, and it turns out we can get out of Ed's contract next offseason with the low low cap hit of only 21M. 😐

Edit: also, Darius Alexander is still available with six picks to go. This could become interesting if he falls that far, but either way, you don't need to give up your 2nd to move up six spots.

We went up 15 spots and only went back 10 spots what are you talking about

I think what matters most is if he will end up being a good player or not.  Doesn’t matter as much that we have other 3 techniques, if he plays well he will get a lot of playing time.
