The reactions are similar because we have needed DL almost every draft, and we have drafted DL almost every draft and somehow still ALWAYS need DL every draft.

 

This feels like Carter, like Boogie, like AJE etc etc etc etc because it IS.

At least when we get past the first two rounds our front office starts to make picks that make sense.  Somehow they lose their minds until late day 2 almost every draft.

This guy is going to be one hell of a special player in Buffalo. Will be an all pro. 

The reason I know is because 90% of the board hates this pick. 
 

If we can just get everybody to hate every pick in the draft that the Bills take then we might never lose another game.

I talked after we picked Hairston about how shocked I was at all the positivity in the round one thread...

And here we are. THIS is the negativity and instant reactivity I was expecting! This thread here confirms to me that I have not, in fact, somehow transported to another planet.

Look: The Bills two top needs according to nearly every human alive were CB and DT. Everyone and their brother said "Beane won't use all 10 picks, he'll trade around and get his guys".

So what happened? 

The Bills' first two picks were a CB and a DT, and Beane moved up the board to get one of his guys.

Oh but wait, your favorite draft guide or amateur Bills analyst has him as a 3rd rounder, so you're upset? Well...those same experts mostly had Shadeur Sanders as a top 20 player and Tyler Warren getting drafted before Colston Loveland and Will Johnson going in the top 15. And here we are. Maybe the rankings of the draft analysts who aren't employed by NFL teams and the amateur podcasters AREN'T unimpeachable?

Gosh almighty. I get saying "this isn't the player I would've preferred, but I'll give him a chance". But the absolute CERTAINTY people have in proclaiming this a bad pick, a reach, whatever....is just beyond comical.

TJ Sanders could be a beast for us… I just think we gave up so much for a position we allowed ourselves to get pigeonholed into needing to make sure we addressed tonight.

He has the frame to add more size. He could play 1 tech in the Bills scheme. The Bills want their DTs to be able to penetrate.

They should.  We were 25th against the run and got man handled at the LOS last year.
