I just hate we lost our other 2nd even getting a third. Beane can’t help himself he has to trade and I’m sure McD is in his ear stating “remember we need another DT, and make sure he’s not a run stuffer” 1 1 Quote

Wow?...hope he pops.... He would be a Niner now. He is perfect for the Saleh defense. A 3T there is a huge need. They actually have a just about serviceable 1T in Jordan Elliott. Though Collins is probably an upgrade there. Their 'bigger need' was unquestionably 3T. If the Bills didn't take TJ he goes two picks later. 5 3 2 Quote
SCBills Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Alfred Collins just went. I think some of our frustration is due to media/podcasters not accurately judging the market for DT’s in this Draft. TJ Sanders is a dang good player, but still.. we gave up a lot, and still remain undersized up the middle which then leads to issues with our undersized linebackers. Quote

appoo Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The Bills run a gap scheme, so they draft gap d-tackles. I wish they’d have at least one big guy at DT, but he’d purely a sub package player in buffalo Quote

RichRiderBills Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 2 minutes ago, Coach Tuesday said: Bob McGinn’s 8th-rated DT: Fourth-year junior. Redshirted in 2021 and didn’t start a game until ’23. “The Carolinas are notorious for these type guys,” one scout said. “They got size, mobility, twitch and they’re still getting better in their third and fourth year of college. It’s a D-line rich area. He’s a country kid, raw, with huge upside. Really good first step, really good power in his hands. Showed that he can win with quick, showed he can win with power. Former basketball player so the movement is obviously there. He’s a second-rounder all day, top 50 player. He can play a 4 to a 5 (technique) but on nickel and dime he can probably get away lining up inside. That’s what everybody’s looking for: a guy that a good 4i, can play 5-technique, maybe align over a tight end. But, in certain packages, all of a sudden this guy’s in a 3-technique giving the guard something different to work with. That’s gonna be his big value.” Started 16 of 39 games, finishing with 109 tackles (18 for loss), 9 ½ sacks and six passes defensed. “They had some horses on the edge so he was more interior,” a second scout said. “He was borderline first round last year. He can play anywhere. He’s really athletic. Got heavy hands. He can bend, redirect. When he wants to play hard he can be really good. He’s got some typical D-lineman immaturity and work-ethic issues but that guy’s got a ton of upside. He’ll be a sneaky pick for whoever takes him. The reports out of there indicate he’s not really ready for all this.” Arms were 33 1/8, hands were 10 ¼. Graduated in December. “They’ll tell us when you walk through the door he might be their most talented player,” a third scout said. “But the attitude and demeanor … he’s a big-time underachiever. He’s never really put it together. He’s probably going to be disappointed on draft day. They tolerated him … but he underachieved there.” Averaged a double-double as a prep basketball player in Marion, S.C. This makes me hate to pick even more work ethic issues? Underachiever? Sounds like he will be buddies w Ed O. Our DL Coaches can't get enough out of our guys now. 2 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I feel like a lot of these reactions are similar to when we drafted undersized, unknown Terrell Bernard and/or Dorian Williams. Not who I was expecting, but I have no reason to expect anyone. We needed Defense this draft. We needed DL this draft. Guess we'll see. 6 1 Quote

Most here look at some mocks a few weeks before the draft, and maybe catch some youtube clips. I based my reaction entirely on his height and weight after the pick. I'm applying for the Giants GM job next cycle. 2 Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Its amazing watching the freak out happen by people who don't know anything about him other than his weight they just read when he was picked. This guy can play. Everyone upset over "part-time" DT not realizing any and every DT we could have or would have drafted would have been on the same rotation and "part-time" snap count. That is how they use their DL. There is a lot of beef still left in this draft too for them to add some later for situational run clogging as well. PS: We aren't losing many games because we are being run on...we keep getting bounced by teams like KC we allow 35 PPG to while they lose the next week avg 17 PPG. And its Mahomes and the inability to cover and the inability to get to Mahomes. 2 things Eagles did to smash Chiefs. And 2 things we just tried to address with our first 2 picks. 15 1 6 Quote

BigdaddyinOrlando Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Looks like maybe taking a page out of Eagles playbook, get faster on the back end and get some powerful explosive players on the front lines. I’m ok w it! 3 1 Quote

Excited we had 2 2nd rounders and we just lit them on fire. I'm not saying I don't wish we had a 340 lb guy but if you educated yourself, Beane couldn't have been more clear that's not what they want. If you're surprised it's on you. If you just disagree, I get it. 1 1 Quote
