Maybe but he was at least a 2nd round prospect.  He just comes with too much baggage to be a backup.  It's a fascinating story.

Wide Receiver and Running Back will be popular early tomorrow. Even behind the guys on this list there is a little stack of guys in both spots who start to come into consideration early day 3. Would like to see Beane try and get into the top 10 picks of the 4th for a receiver. 

I know Bond has had a lot of negative reporting around him but I think at this point the value proposition seems pretty undeniable. Not against Royals though. I like his game.

 

EDIT: And I hate the thought of another talented but (likely) scummy WR falling into the Chiefs lap for the n'th time this century.

No the Chiefs play a 4-3. Norman-Lott is going to be the backup to Jones, spell him a bit more as he ages, and they will hope gives them someone in the hut to potentially take over when Jones ages out. They will be on the field together in some obvious passing down situations - like Sanders and Oliver will for the Bills - but you are not have those two out there together almost at all in base. I liked Gillotte a lot too, he was one of my guys. Slightly unusual body shape though in that he is built like a stockier inside guy but plays on the edge. I think he will be a situational guy probably behind Karlaftis. They tend to like a slightly twitchier guy on the other side.

Oh I agree. Not saying he shouldn't have been drafted by now, especially in this particular draft year. But it is VERY telling that the most QB needy teams have passed him over repeatedly

If both are available when the Bills pick next, they have to go with Royals who has no pending disciplinary reviews by the court system, the public, or the league.

Bills could have easily traded back into the end of the third to draft Watts. They must be cool running it back with Hamlin. That should work out well.

Isn't Farmer all potential and limited production? That's what I've surmised from draft profiles.

I think drafting Royals actually DOES that. Whereas drafting Bond MAYBE does that, or at least eventually does that, until the next allegations.

I'm blown away Caldwell went before Farmer & West??  Well I think it's safe to say Beane will be on the phone tonight to get rid of a couple 5th's, to move up.

"He" is Hamlin here, yes? If so, I agree that is what should happen, unless Bishop fails to progress at all.

 

We all know McD will often play the steady, undersized/unathletic/old hand who KNOWS the defense and doesn't blow assignments over a more dynamic, but inconsistent, alternative. So Bishop needs to show substantial growth to be trusted ahead of Hamlin and even potentially Forrest (who is a sleeper candidate to earn snaps in 2025). He has a real opportunity to grab the #2 or #3 S job, of course. Has to be better to do so, though. 

 

I'll bet S gets at least one serious addition next offseason, alongside an otherwise offensive focus.
