billsfan714 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I love how some people think the rest of the draft doesn't matter. Rounds where we got guys like Benford, Milano,Taron, Shakir, drafted Teller, etc. 3 1 Quote
H2o Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This is getting to the point that I almost feel bad for Shadeur. I may not like his father, and I don't like the circus, nor his antics at times. But man, if this doesn't humble him. 1 1 Quote

If you just look at the stats especially in the playoffs it seems obvious on the face of it we need defense more than offense. I still feel like over investing in the offense would have been an equally viable strategy, but they went in the more expected direction. I just hope all of the investments create a different result. We apparently don't want to give Allen that alpha that can make a clutch play for him at the end, so the defense needs to be good enough that we don't need that clutch play at the end. Yeah it's philosophy. I'd rather find an alpha up front on DL, so we don't need Allen to be all world. Same reason I loved Brady going more balanced on offense. Less pressure on Josh. If we look at how Mahomes/KC has lost in the SB/big games, it's been a steady pass rush. It hasn't been that the other team out offensed them. Mahomes will find a way to overcome, ie: 13 seconds. Just what generational clutch players do. We need someone to be a consistent equalizer on defense- or collective pass rush. Need to keep investing there until it works. Quote

I like him getting humbled on draft night but I’d tip my cap if he proves everyone wrong…as long as it’s not for the jets lol Quote
HappyDays Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Just now, GunnerBill said: To be fair to them, there was not a ton of those guys in this draft. Most of the receivers in this class are #2s and #3s... complimentary players. I still want an outside guy with some speed from what is left but I don't expect any of those guys to become a true #1 alpha type. Yeah I mostly agree, despite being the #1 WR advocate on here I was fine going defense early because that's where the value of the class was going to be. I am happy with the players we selected where we selected them. I just hope all the defensive investments end up mattering when it counts. 2 Quote
