Please no...

I ask all of you to think "what would an upgrade at safety really accomplish in McDermott's D?" Wouldn't we all say prime Micah Hyde & Jordan Poyer were a big upgrade over what we have now? And what did that look like come playoff time?

Just remember, it's still McDermott's D. The point is that we could get 2 x studs back there, and the end result doesn't change the way he calls a game. I'm not saying it's ENTIRELY pointless, it's just the move least likely to help this team take a big step forward. I don't think having 2 great safeties back there will turn the tides against the Chiefs.

I'd rather double down on our biggest strength - Josh Allen. The side of the ball most likely to see changes year-to-year is offense, so give Joe Brady more tools to help Josh succeed. McDermott & Beane are good at finding defensive talent in the later rounds anyway.

I don’t want edge at 56 or 62…the chances of ending up with another Basham or Epenesa are too great at that part of the draft.  Difference making DTs and WRs can be had there, though.  Give me Collins and Kyle Williams.

This seems reasonable

Use both 2nds to trade up for Edge Nick Scourton…

Aquire a 3rd round pick from the trade…

Take DT Farmer with the 3rd rounder…

Use both 4th rounders to trade back into the 3rd and take WR Tory Horton/ Tae Felton/ Kyle Williams…

BPA as long as it is a position of need (we have plenty).

I would personally prefer a safety. A more coverage free safety (not a box safety/strong safety).

Some names that stick out to me, in no particular order:

S - Nick Emmanwori

S - Xavier Watts

LB - Carson Schewesinger

DT - TJ Sanders

DT - Alfred Collins

DT - Deone Walker

EDGE - Landon Jackson

EDGE - Jordan Burch

EDGE - Donovan Ezeiruaku

WR - Luther Burden

WR - Jaylen Royals

WR - Jayden Higgins

Some would be only there likely in a trade up like Emmanwori for example.  But these are guys that stand out for me on the board, and we have the ammo to be aggressive and move up from 56 too.

I like this list and will take everyone's word on Alfred Collins for DT

Some of the other players that I also have on my list:

S - Nick Emmanwori - S. Carolina, 21 years old, 6'3" with 4.38 speed

WR - Donte Thornton, JR. TN, 6'5" 205 lbs with 4.3 speed

WR - Jayden Higgins - Iowa St, 6'4" 214 lbs 4.47  40

CB - Darien Porter - Iowa St, 6'3" 195 lbs 4.3 speed

Go Bills!!!!!

Today is about improving the pass rush and run D. So, DL should be the focus. I am tired of watching our defense get torched in the playoffs year after year. Look at what Philly did to KC. They got after Mahomes pretty good all game and we saw what the end result was.

I'm still for trading next year's 30-32 pick to Seattle for 52 and 82. They have 2 picks in both rounds and may want to have that 2nd first next year in case Darnold turtles.  I've gotten slammed for this before, but after last night, I don't care how stupid anyone thinks it is. That gives us...

Then our 5th and 6th rounders can do more to move around a little. I have little faith and I think last night was 50% a pride pick in that McBeane wanted to prove themselves that the Elam pick wasn't poor evaluation, selection, but just a weird fate.

Look at Philly's Defense and where those guys were drafted. That's what separates champs from the rest.

Alfred Collins would be my top target,  but I think he'll go by the middle of the round.  At best,  they're looking at the 2nd tier of the 1Ts now.

Maybe but Beane has shown in the past that he will trade up for a player he wants.

I’d love to find a way to get Mike Green, but his off the field red flags must be of a different tenor than Hairston’s, because there’s no other way to explain a legit pass rusher dropping like he has.

Y’all still talking about DT when 10 were already picked?

still need to replace Diggs, and I don’t mean end of 2023 Diggs. For me its Luther Burden or Jayden Higgins.

then all the DTs you want to add to the room that already has a 9 overall pick and costs 40mil. Also traded up for Carter last year.

if you want a run stopper there will be plenty on day 3. You need rare skills this early.

If they're lucky 2nd tier at best. Their first selection today is what no. 24?

If they draft WR in the 2nd that player gets what?  20% of snaps? Josh needs more because we have to score 40 + to win?

A Safety won't be starting and in the meantime we're gonna wait til after week 6 to get Hoecht and the equivalent of Austin Johnson for the Dline. Hope Joey makes it to week 6.  Not to mention hanging on to DQ one year too long like Star.

Will Hairston actually start?...not get hurt or potentially lose out to a 4th rounder? Hell Elam was picked 7 spots higher in a trade up.

I like Collins as well

I think Benjamin Morrison is a great value late in round 2. He can play inside or slot if we think Taron Johnson is losing a step after this season.

Xavier Watts as the safety plan B could be an option for some as well.

hoping for Williams in the 3rd.

We don't have a 3rd round pick we traded it for cooper.

A next years 1st round pick is valued as a 2nd round pick in the current draft. If the Bills even wanted to entertain this notion , they may not even get 52 let alone both a 2nd and 3rd for the pick especially because the Bills will be picking in the latter half of the first round

Caldwell from Oregon will be better than any of the day 2 guys and will be there in the 4th.

1T is someone who eats up Double teams due to size and strength alone. There are plenty on day 3 where the difference is negligible.

meanwhile Luther burdens floor is a poor man’s Deebo Samuel

Look I love Mike Green I’ve said it a lot. He’s not going to be a Bill and either is Isaiah bond. You might as well wipe these two players from existence

I wouldn't be shocked if Beane traded up in round two. He has a stash of nine more picks, they don't need that.
