My CB breaks up the play = he doesn’t need to be a giant man tackler Elam probably could tackle if he was ever near the WR LOL Yeah but the way the first two levels miss tackles, we need our DBs to be able to. 1 Quote

I don't like to pick as I said I'm just very dubious of some SEC players in this day and age a lot of coddling and I'm going to question how hard they're going to work especially pouring to cold weather. I saw a few Kentucky games and hairston never really stood out to me. A lot of the analysis by the bills guys like Joe Marino, Chopin bulldog. I just didn't think hairston was a scheme fit for us. A weak tackler. A weak tackler somewhat undersized more accustomed to man. I think I recalled Joe Marino saying just recently that Amos was much better fit than hairston. And so I don't like to pick. I probably would have The South Carolina safety. He's an undeniable athlete, a predator in the backfield. I don't think there's anyone of that talent that was available. Safety is a sneaky need and our defense has not been good since we had elite safeties. I get the good DT s were off the board again. Why didn't we move up to get one? Even staying put , we could have wound up with the best safety in this draft. Instead we get probably the 4th or fifth Best corner. It feels like the elam picked to me and I know know we can't be traumatized by that, but that's how I feel. . He's not a bad tackler. Check his '23 film, came back last year from a shoulder injury with some stiff competition 1 Quote

balln Posted yesterday at 11:38 AM Posted yesterday at 11:38 AM So like beane says he may not start right away? WHAT? is this like Cole bishop again. We draft a player of need HIgH and they can’t even start ? Quote

HomeTeam Posted yesterday at 11:40 AM Posted yesterday at 11:40 AM Love the pick!! Seems like a kid with contagious confidence. I hope that bravado rubs off on this team come playoff time. My only concern is that he comes from a long lineage of slave owners 😋🤣 Quote

Gregg Posted yesterday at 11:51 AM Posted yesterday at 11:51 AM We finally have someone who can keep up with those fast Dolphins receivers as well as G. Wilson. I expect today is the day the Bills focus on getting DL line help. Still need to improve the pass rush and run D. 1 Quote

RyanC883 Posted yesterday at 11:52 AM Posted yesterday at 11:52 AM Perhaps we can give some of that speed to Coleman Okay with this pick, the more I look into it the more I’m liking it. Quote
BuffaloBill Posted yesterday at 11:56 AM Posted yesterday at 11:56 AM The Bills with this pick and other coaching changes are signaling that they are likely to mix in more man coverages. McDermott will always play heavier zone but nice to have the options for flexibility. 1 Quote

Do you expect Beane to say that Hairston is already a pencilled starter? Quote
Magox Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM Everyone keeps talking about his long speed which of course is important but it’s his ability to plant his foot and break on the ball that is what is most striking for me. It will be his ability to cover the quick hitters that will be of most value. It also helps that he’s scheme versatile and that fits right in with what the Bills will want to try to do moving forward. Playing more man than what we’ve seen in years past. I think where Tre will help is showing him how to be a consummate professional and attacking ball carriers in run/screen support. Also having someone that can keep up with Worthy’s speed and quickness will be helpful as well. 7 1 Quote
DCofNC Posted yesterday at 11:59 AM Posted yesterday at 11:59 AM I was excited at the chance to get Johnson, but the medical reports must be bad for him to slide as he has. I like what I see from the highlights here, he’s definitely explosive and flies to the ball. Hopefully, he stays healthy and McD can maximize his talent, could be an awesome pick. Quote

The chiefs ran all over us. 1 Quote

MClem06 Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM "With each player that has been picked and walked past his spot, Hairston has celebrated that player and cheered him on like he was a lifelong friend. Genuine support." - Field Yates tweet about Hairston. Put aside the desirable trait and need at position this guy is going to be great for our lockerroom and from what you see so far he smiles alot, positivity is contagious!! Let's go get that Trophy boys. 2 Quote
