Some former All Pro CB is only 5'11, and weighed under 180lbs at the combine,  and didn't run a 4.28 40.  Oh yeah... Tre White.

I have no opinion on this so I’m just going to wait and see.. I wanted a DT but they were all gone.

Will johnson is only 3" taller and 11 pounds heavier. Also I guarantee Johnson isn't running a 4.28- 40 time. Also people keep mentioning his tackling yet he was on special teams at Kentucky so he must be at least decent at it.

Johnson is legitimately slow top end speed wise…this isn’t like a very fast player in Hairston vs a pretty fast player in Johnson…hes got below average speed.  The disparity is huge

if the plan is to try to man up the chiefs receivers johnsons not the guy you want.  I think that has as much to do with him falling as the injuries do

Greg Cosell came on the 45min of post draft coverage I watched and said one team he spoke with earlier today said Hairston had better tape at CB than Travis Hunter

This has been covered. The GM was Beane.

Ray Davis IG story (sadly no one's reposted it to a Tweet) is a really good watch.

It is a really big shift for most of us, but dudes like playing for the Bills now. It's not just the winning, although that's a big part of it. We have a stable organization and a good culture. Tre White told his agent "get me back on the Bills or I'm retiring." We never had that. These are the good times. Enjoy them.

His entire reaction after the pick was made - from walking through that tunnel to the interview - was simply amazing to watch.  It wasn't that long ago players didn't get that excited when getting picked by the Bills. Cool to see where we are now.

It's whatever. I hate drafting CBs early. At least he's fast?

He wasn't drafted early. It was our earliest pick, but by the time he was taken we were into the crapshoot of 2nd-3rd round grades. You have to hope for the best. I wanted a DT but all the best DTs were already gone. At least CB is a premium position. The genius Eagles took a freaking traditional LB one pick after us and they traded a 5th for the right to do that.  Dallas took an OG at 12. This draft sucks.

FWIW, here’s the grade and comments on the Maxwell (“Mad Max”) Hairston pick from Rob Rang writing for Fox Sports:

30. Buffalo Bills: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky

Rang: The Bills needed defensive playmakers in this draft to help Josh Allen get over the top and into the Super Bowl, and they certainly found a playmaker in the 2025 Combine speed champ. Hairston, who wins with pure man-to-man cover skills and big-play flair, returning half of his six career touchdowns back for touchdowns. This is one of my favorite picks given his talent and fit with a team needing a "finisher."

Grade: A

Massive liability in run support? Poor open field tackling? Shoulder injury? Needs to prove he can hold up to the rigors of the NFL?

Good job. Won't be starting day 1. Awesome

Unfortunately he's rated as poor run support and will have problems with bigger WR's. Not a fan of this pick... Speed is nice but as JD Williams  showed, it isn't enough

For what it's worth, one of the guys from ESPN said that his issues with run support/tackling was after the shoulder injury, due to the lingering injury. They said he did not have those issues junior year and that his shoulder is now healthy. Not sure how accurate that is, but thought I'd pass it along.

Outside corner is a premium position.  I get if you don't like the prospect but not being a fan of taking one early is odd to me.

Why are some “experts”  calling him a man to man corner and others saying zone

which is it? Both?

He excels at playing man coverage in zone.

Maxwell Hairston, could be embarrassment

McDermott gets annoyed

Writing 50 times ‘I must not be so’ oh oh oh

But when he turns his back to the boy,

He sneaks up from behind..

BANG! BANG!  Maxwells’ silver hammer

Came down upon his head!

BANG! BANG! Maxwell’s silver hammer

Made sure He was dead!
