I mean...if this regime knows a position its CB...so I think with this staff and Tre mentoring, this kid just landed in a great spot to reach his potential.

Only argument would be the elam trade up in 2022 haha.

But agreed, for the most part they know what they are doing when it comes to corner

But man, he’s tiny, like how’s he gonna tackle anyone?

You don't have to be big to put people on the ground.

You just have to be willing and know what you're doing.

The Bills needed a corner, needed more speed on defense, and there have been many hints that they want to play more man coverage.

They selected a corner, who runs a 4.29, who can play man coverage.

It’s not the sexiest pick. But it’s a highly logical, clean, sensible pick that seemingly ticks the boxes of team need, scheme fit, and value.

It doesn’t have to be rocket science. I think the Bills defense got better tonight.

im picturing him trying to tackle Henry.  it isnt pretty.  yes he shouldnt have to do that,  but thats what crept into my mind at first.   speed and awareness are nice though.  def needed CB2.  welcome to the Bills.

That isn’t pretty for any CB in the league. Gaining 15 pounds wouldn’t make much difference bringing down Henry. It’s just technique at that point. Go low, try not to catch a knee to the head.

Well... I talked non-stop about the Bills being too slow on Defense last year... I felt like a broken record...

They just got a LOT faster at CB...

Tough not to like this pick... The kid is a LOT of energy on the field. He's going to make some big plays in WNY... When I watched him the main thing that stood out to me was how effortless his speed was. He looks like he's running 3/4 a lot of times and it's step for step.

The next thing that stood out is what happens when he see's it in front of him and how quickly everything happens after that... It's impressive. It jumps out. There are "woah..." moments... The Bills were clearly never, ever going to Draft a CB who was iffy in zone coverage in the 1st again.

His negatives are mostly around the thin frame and size. But that's why he's so fast...

Good start IMHO...

Tell me what corner matches up well against Henry? It's a nightmare matchup.

Not sure what that means. So he gives up the highest avg over the total amount of snaps?

most yards allowed per play in coverage

Id be curious about more context

Ok, explain this to me.

BR starts with "Hairston is a long and rangy cornerback prospect . . . at 6'1".  But then in its own measurables BR says he's 5'11".

So . . . ?

NFL said 5”11 but he has long arms so that should help

He's a character fit too.

I saw that all night and saw how genuinely happy he was. I figured it was an NFL employee or something as I couldn't see who it was. Like him even more now!

To be fair to Hairston, that is partly a function of the Kentucky defense. They had him giving up underneath routes all the time, but he doesn’t get beat over the top.
