So funny, if you took this poll 2 days ago, Hairston wouldn’t have been top 4 or 5. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have been but Amos, Emmanwori, Campbell, certainly Johnson and probably Green would have gotten more votes. We just did this exercise. I like the pick. The voting here is hilarious though.

You could have gotten me on board with everyone except Emmanwori at 30. Despite his athletic traits he’s not a great cover guy and that’s what the Bills need at S

I picked Amos but am not disappointed at all with Hairston. I don’t think a trade back was too realistic an option. I do think Sanders would’ve been the likeliest target if a team was trying to move up at that point and with KC and PHI behind Buffalo, why would a team trade back into the first for him? If a team really liked a different player maybe, but who would that be? Was there anyone left at that point worth the trade back into the first?

Agreed - Sanders seems like the only real target, with someone likely wanting to jump Cleveland.  The Steelers dont have the ammo.  The Titans and Giants took their QB.  Dropping back to the Saints pick would have been too much.  Cleveland had no incentive to move up from either of their early 2nd rounders.

Outside of Tennessee wanting to jump the Eagles for Campbell, I don't see where there was a realistic partner that would allow us to get "our guy" rather than best remaining.

In hindsight, I wish we would have tried to trade up to 20 to get Harmon.  That was always my draft goal, to get ahead of Pittsburgh because I felt like DT was their choice and others would have gone.

I would have easily given up a 2nd to get Harmon.  We still could have probably traded up and at least gotten Amos, if not another DB.

Nothing against Hairston, but I wanted two impact players, and I feel like all the D-Line impact players are gone now.

Any hope/idea I had of DT being the choice evaporated with Beane's press conference and talking about needing 3 down players.  In hindsight I love the Hairston pick as a chess piece to matchup with Tyreke and Worthy.  That is a trait that was sorely missing from the secondary.

I have to imagine there is quite a bit of "in Beane we trust" with this voting.  Also I think people likely hadn't dug into Hairston as much prior to him being the pick.  As I mentioned above to Virgil, in hindsight a guy who can matchup with 2 speedsters we see at a minimum 3 times a year is a really important piece to have.

Yeah, he’s a fine pick. It’s just funny watching everyone say, “yeah, that’s what I would have done” when we just did 3 mocks and no one considered Hairston.

Funny, when we did @Virgil’s Mock 1.0, TSW took Amos over Hairston.  Now Hairston is dominating Amos in the voting here.

Whatever the Bills do is the best. What they dont do was obviously wrong.

I had said in the other thread, if we went DL I wanted it to be Grant Nolen or Harmon. If we went CB I liked Hairston over Amos. I wanted DT over CB but since they were all gone, I went with the DB I wanted which was Hairston.
