How many slaves did the Hairstons own?

one of the largest slave holding families in the history of America. The Hairstons owned 42 plantations in three states and enslaved more than 10,000 people over a two hundred year history.

 

Because the white Hairstons owned so many slaves, there are a lot of blacks named Hairston because many freedmen took their former owners' surnames even though most were not blood relatives to their white masters.   Many black Hairstons today are not necessarily even related to some other blacks bearing the Hairston name.   While the Hairstons are one of the most well known slave holding families, they aren't unique.

I saw him over Amos in plenty of mocks/cb rankings.  Not sure Johnson is even relevant to the convo because he’s clearly falling based on injury concerns that every team seems to have 

 

Johnson is kind of interesting to bring up because he excels in the kind of off coverage zone scheme that everyone here hates I feel like and Hairston is better suited to the defense the average TBD poster wants to run 😂.

They may have taken the best player on the board.  

 

They changed strength and conditioning coaches because they wanted more speed in the secondary and power up front.  They just injected a guy who runs 4.28 and topped out at 24.25 mph.   He catches the ball like a wr.  

 

He is going to be a great fit here, he is already close with Ray Davis.

 

one of the leagues best defenses at getting takeaways just added a guy that has the makeup to get a whole bunch of them.

There’s def some guys out there who fit the 1T need, but it’s a gamble if they can also move the pocket.

My instinct says Scourton and Sanders will definitely be gone. And Jackson probably will (though he fell in our collab mock). Which means Swinson, Royals, Farmer and Norman-Lott are my four best guesses right now as in the mix.

Not even remotely true. 
 

Johnson fell for a reason.  No one took him for a reason.  
 

Hairston was ranked ahead of Amos plenty of places.
