I don't understand why in these first picks they don't announce immediately and then let the kid talk for 6-7 minutes. Forget Kiper.

The league tells teams to take their time. This is a big commercial for NFL players and teams. They want to milk it for all the PR they can.

I’ll tell you what Hunter is probably happy as hell to be playing in Jacksonville vs Cleveland

Maybe trying to gear up to get Manning next year.

I'm sure that's the plan, but who knows what happens this season.  What if a QB needy team out-tanks the Browns?  I don't think a team needing a QB is giving up Manning no matter how much is offered.  It's a craps shoot.  It gives them ammo next year for sure, but they could win just enough games to miss out on that top pick.  Will be interesting to watch it play out.

idiot owner with 4 championships

He became owner in 2005. Coughlin and Eli were already in place. Every decision he has made, including foisting Daniel Jones on multiple staffs, has sucked.

AFC South got a couple nice players on paper.  We shall see if they can produce. Hunter is a talent. he probably can’t live up to the huge hype, but you can’t deny his talent is there

I hate the stupid speech before each pick. It's like a cooking website that makes you read a person's entire life story before you get to the damn recipe.

There's just so much annoying fluff.

Does anyone - ANYONE - enjoy seeing current or former players getting up there and doing the whole "What's up (fill in team) Nation!!!" routine?

I want to cry but I can’t cry because I’m too excited - Travis Hunter

To me, it felt like he'd forgotten which team had drafted him.

Holy trade up.

That is one Big swing of the Bat. The first blockbuster of the night.

CB/WR  dual threat welcome to the NFL Travis Hunter

Let's say Hunter ends up as a top 10 WR in the league, and mixes in occasionally in some coverage packages. Is that really worth a 2nd round pick (basically a late first), a 4th round pick and an additional 1st round pick?

He basically has to be All-Pro level on a rookie contract to justify that draft capital. Just doesn't seem realistic.
