Grant is only 21 & already massive powerful strong and quick for his size.

 

He immediately upgrades the Run D.

He immediately helps Ed Oliver

He can take on double teams

 

He could grow into a player who can collapse the pocket on passing plays

They had no assurance he would be there at their pick after they traded with KC, considering the Panthers were also in the market for a receiver. If they really wanted him, they would have taken him there. 

 

They were obviously fine with any of Keon, worthy or leggette. Glass half full..draft is a crapshoot so better to take whoever and get more picks. Glass half empty..they didn't have conviction on who the better prospect was.

The local media downplaying Grant to the Bills have said that he’s a 2-down tackle that doesn’t give you much as a pass rusher.

Problem is the Bills have not had Grant in on a top 30 visit that I have seen. I have 23 of the names that they did have in. But no Grant. Only once in Beane's years has he drafted someone not brought in for a top 30 in the first round (excluding COVID YEAR WHERE VISITS WEREN'T ALLOWED) and that was Kincaid.

 

Besides once the dust settles I expect Grant will hear his name in the top 20 picks.
