Then discuss it somewhere else please.

I have zero desire to toss people for it, but if that is what the community prefers (which it clearly always has) then that is what will be done.

So what......can we have a real time thread then and just not spoil the picks in the general draft thread?  That would be "discussing it somewhere else", right?

I'd prefer not to because it will inevitably create conflict when people forget which thread they're in or start crossing threads to expand their discussion options.

It's not a hard ask; just hold your water please until the Commish makes the announcement on a network.

Fair warning:

Tipping picks is an instant suspension, either in real time or if I see later that you had been doing it.

Have some respect for the rest of the community and just don't do it.

Just avoid it altogether; trying to manage two different threads is a pita and not worth it

That would be fantastic and I would amend it to "announced the pick on the network broadcast".

Would be great if this message could be a new pinned subject title..just sayin :)

I’m gonna just watch the draft.  After each Bills selection is made, I’ll come here for all the aftermath.  I’ve done this for awhile now.  Works for me.  Enjoy the draft.  Go Bills!

I know what you're saying but I can't believe we drafted  . The first step and football instincts are good, except for when they're not. Beane really dropped the ball on this.

I didn’t even want to start a thread about this but every year there just has to be 2-3 posters who either thinks it’s funny, are ignorantly doing it, or just are a holes about it.

I, and many others, come on this board during the draft to see the initial reactions, commentary from posters, and to have a good time with others discussing picks that have been made only to be ruined. This has caused me not to come to this board on draft night.

Thanks for reading my lecture.

So, how can we satisfy everyone?  Can we have a thread that talks about the picks in real time and another that talks about the picks in broadcast time?  That would make the most sense.

I think that not tipping picks will satisfy the vast majority of people.

There are a myriad of places -- including Twitter, Facebook, other Bills forums without this rule in place, etc -- that will satisfy the desires of the majority, i.e. discussing picks before they're announced on the broadcast.

I agree, I am actuallly going to stay off Twitter until the Bills picks to get reactions etc. there are so few things left in life that can be enjoyed “live” in real time and not spoiled

i remember the night he changed his moniker. i think it was a rerun of the episode was on and it was being talked about somewhere in the shoutbox or a thread and he said "that's actually a good screen name."

Tipping picks gives me flashbacks to my wedding that was on the day of the 2009 draft.  After a grueling 45 seconds of foreplay, just as I was about to consummate “christening” my wife, she yelled out “The Bills drafted MAYBIN?  This is the worst night of my life!”

So what's the rule for proper etiquette?

Wait until the Commish has announced the pick to discuss it?

Wait until after the commercial they play when ever during Bills pick
