Yeah, TV Broadcast always has a slight delay, so people see picks going out on social media and stuff prior to the broadcast and then tip them as a spoiler a lot in threads or shout box especially. Its a lot more fun for people to watch the pick unfold and suspense build on the broadcast than just randomly see some shoutbox post of a name. 1 1 Quote

A first-round pick is at least five minutes. Too much going on involving him behind the scenes? Edited yesterday at 05:38 PM by chongli Quote

I do have issue with those of us who stay off twitter for exactly that reason then being subjected to it by idiots who just take joy in ruining it. 1 1 4 3 1 Quote

Yeah, I was using "feeds" in the most inclusive manner in which it could possibly be interpreted so that I didn't have to type more than one sentence. 1 Quote

Logic Posted yesterday at 05:46 PM Posted yesterday at 05:46 PM Can someone give this message to Adam Schefter? Last year he kept making "educated guesses" right before each team picked that were very obviously him just telling you who it was about to be without actually telling you. Most glaringly, when the Falcons were about to pick, he said something to the effect of "could this surprise everyone and be a quarterback? They've done lots of work on Michael Penix in recent days", and then of course it was. Spoiled what should have been the most fun, shocking moment of the draft. God I hope he doesn't do that again this year. If I even see him come on my TV screen, I'm muting it immediately. 2 1 Quote

The Firebaugh Kid Posted yesterday at 05:51 PM Posted yesterday at 05:51 PM I have a friend that comes over to watch the bills with us and he will be checking game updates on his phone sometimes and start grinning like an idiot when the bills are driving. He tips everything off and it’s incredibly annoying to the point where we don’t let him have his phone anymore lol. Please don’t be that guy. 1 Quote
Starr Almighty Posted yesterday at 05:52 PM Posted yesterday at 05:52 PM Well this sucks I snuck into the Bills war room just so I could post 1st. I was a nice beat out Twitter. Guess I'll just sit under this desk and not post. Just know I knew 1st. Enjoy the draft and hopefully it goes well for us. And I agree don't ruin it for others, there's no fun nor joy in that Quote

Years ago, before I found a place where I can have my own TV with sound on, I used to go to satellite bars & listen on the radio which was ahead of the TV. Sometimes I couldn't help myself & started cheering and telling my friends "wait until you see this". Sometimes I'm on the phone with Petrino & one of us has an earlier home broadcast feed (usually him because he gets the NYC channel). I don't mind being told ahead of time, because I don't have a suspense gene. I prefer to know ASAP & I even will go on the internet when I'm home watching a movie to find out how it ends. You can't spoil anything for me. 1 Quote
sven233 Posted yesterday at 06:02 PM Posted yesterday at 06:02 PM (edited) The biggest problem with all of this is that the TV broadcast doesn't take much time at all to get 3-5 picks behind. So, you say don't tip picks......that's fine if it were the difference of a minute or so but sometimes they are so far behind that tipping picks could mean 10 minutes after a pick is made. I'm sorry, but if the Bills make a pick, there are going to be those of us that want to just talk about it right away and not have to wait 5-10 minutes for the TV broadcast to catch up. Tipping picks is subjective. When a pick is made, there is no reason it can't be made public. Like I said, I get it if it was constantly 30 seconds early, but it make no sense to wait several minutes after a pick is known to say what it is on here. So, how can we satisfy everyone? Can we have a thread that talks about the picks in real time and another that talks about the picks in broadcast time? That would make the most sense. I have zero desire to toss people for it, but if that is what the community prefers (which it clearly always has) then that is what will be done. 1 Quote

He was on our local station for his weekly gig and said he will not be doing that this year. I don’t believe him. The only way it doesn’t happen is if he’s scrambling to attach their medical records and it slows him down 1 Quote
