I didn’t even want to start a thread about this but every year there just has to be 2-3 posters who either thinks it’s funny, are ignorantly doing it, or just are a holes about it.

I, and many others, come on this board during the draft to see the initial reactions, commentary from posters, and to have a good time with others discussing picks that have been made only to be ruined. This has caused me not to come to this board on draft night.

Thanks for reading my lecture.

....and every year 2-3 posters move to the "ignore" list.

These are the ones that irk me the most..

Simon is usually pretty fast to end that though.

I think if some posters want to discuss picks before they are announced on television, they should have a separate thread, so they don't spoil the evening for those of us who love the suspense.

I agree with Gonzo, just keep it to yourself, or join a separate thread.  No one is impressed.  In fact, quite the opposite.

is there a consensus network the board watchers are using for the draft?

I will TRY to stick with one and just keep it there and NOT tip a single thing.

how bout we all just watch the draft! Now there's an idea.... if you don't want spoilers don't read them.

What many want is the ability to watch the draft and discuss it with friends here. Kinda hard not to read them when the village idiots come into the thread...a thread that is often even labeled with please don't spoil picks...and start interjecting them along with the rest of the messages.

I do think having 2 threads is the better call. One for people that just want to watch the draft with suspense and discuss it...and another for those "LAMP" posters that peaked in high school and are craving attention.

Your post makes no sense.  It’s fine.  Enjoy draft day.

It makes perfect sense. What is the confusion?

How do we know if it’s “all clear” to discuss a given pick?

When they announce it on TV

I get it, especially if people want to be able to discuss the draft with how it is airing on tv, people jumping in and getting ahead of the feed doesnt help and ruins the drama for some. It shouldnt be hard for the people who want to know ahead of time to find that out, and then just wait for the tv to catch up before reporting. Like its usually just a few minutes

So what's the rule for proper etiquette?

Wait until the Commish has announced the pick to discuss it?

Yes

Fair warning:

Tipping picks is an instant suspension, either in real time or if I see later that you had been doing it.

Have some respect for the rest of the community and just don't do it.

Can we have a spoilers thread? Or easier to just avoid it altogether?

Just avoid it altogether; trying to manage two different threads is a pita and not worth it

That would be fantastic and I would amend it to "announced the pick on the network broadcast".
