I have to say BPA and go with the draft board of Beane and company. It's not a  cop out answer. I have to trust them. I root for the laundry.

whoever is picked I welcome with open arms and welcome to Buffalo. GET READY BILLS FANS.

I love the NFL draft!

What is this fascination with trading back?  Buffalo has a ton of picks already. Why water down your existing picks just to get even more?

Because most likely, the player they would take at 30 is going to have a second round grade, anyway. So trading down into that 34-36 spot and pick up the same level player with an extra pick in your pocket is the smart play IMO. Even if you get a 4th back you can package and slide it back up and into the 3rd where we do not currently have a pick for a guy that may have been a mid 2nd grade and has slipped.

Again, that's all depending on how the board plays out, who is available and who is left when the Bills pick. The meat of this draft is in the second and third rounds anyway.

I'm liking what I am hearing. Trade with Cincy: Cook and a second for Hendrickson.

Where on earth are you hearing that?

Or is that just what you're saying YOU would like to see happen?

Im in on the corner.   One stat the keeps sticking with me is the Bills had the 5th worst completion percentage allowed on defense.   The teams that we were ahead of are the likes of the Falcons, Giants, Colts and Cards. Not going to win superbowls like that. I don't see a 1 tech changing that stat a whole lot.   Thats not to say we don't need a 1 tech, we do, our run D isn't great either, and Daquon is about shot.  I just would prioritize the corner as I think you're going to see a run on the corners from the start of the 2nd to our pick at 56.   I don't see the likes of Tre or Dane being guys you want to start, they are depth guys.   We need a lot more speed in the secondary.   I think we can get the 1 tech maybe at 56.   In fact I would like to see us double dip at corner with the first 5 picks.  If I was Beane first 5 picks would all be defense.  2 corners, a 1 tech, a DE and a safety.   Our defense has been the problem in the playoffs, we can hang with just about anyone on offense(see the Rams and Lions games last year), our defense is not championship caliber and hasn't been for a while.  The Chiefs re-tooled their secondary after the 13 second game and the Eagles did also.

For the WR people, I think we kept 5 WRs on the final 53 last year, with Keon, Shakir, Samuel and Palmer how much opportunity will there be for the 5th WR?

How do you fit him under the cap would be my question.

I think the way this draft shapes out, I think a slight trade back out the first, gain a pick and then trade up with the 4ths to move back into the 3rd maybe the way to go.  We could address a lot of holes on D with 5 picks in the first 3 rounds.

I want the Bills to add 3 things

SPEED in the secondary. Stop settling for high IQ, low athletic dbs and safeties. We need to go after high IQ high athletic dbs.

A DT who can create havoc with his pass rush.

A Run stuffing 1 Tech.

After that a EDGE with some juice and a take the top off receiver.

If the Bills hit on corner and DT I think they comfortably take another step.

I like to do this gimmick every year at draft time because it never gets old

The Bills will select the 3rd best high motor undersized DL at #30 in the NFL Draft.  Superlatives like "knows the game" and "process guy", "intangibles" and "high ceiling"

t-rex arms and a 5.2 40

They love their mother, were a boy scout and captain, and cant wait to study the playbook also.  😁

Want the big DT

Think it’s a db because of relative position depth. May not get as good a DT but could get better overall value of the two together given the DT depth.

I can see that point of view.....the drop-off in talent at CB from 30 to 56 is probably greater than the drop-off in talent at DT from 30 to 56.

Want: Harmon, Grant, Amos, Hairston (Or a WR in a miracle)

Will get: Some player that will sit the bench like Schwesinger, or a stupid trade-up like we did for Elam and Kincaid

There's no 'fascination' with trading back for its own sake. I want them to draft a 1T with their first pick.  If Harmon,  Grant and Tyleik Williams (whom I forgot in the first post) are gone at 30,  I want them to trade back in order to better match value on Alfred Collins,  whom I expect will go in the mid R2 area.

My question on this comes from the defensive approach/scheme. When you play effective press man it seems to take away a lot of the quick throws that are there against our mostly zone coverage. Does a shift in coverage scheme lead to a more effective pass rush even though it potentially allows more big plays given up. I’m sure there is some data scatter plot about %press coverage and rush effectiveness, but I can’t find it.

If you have the right front 4 that can put an opposing offensive line on their ass, it doesn't matter the other teams scheme.  That's where we need to get to.  It's the only thing that has beaten the Chiefs in the playoffs.

I don’t think they will pick at 30. That’s my final call. But as I was just informed by a screaming Tasker (I’ve listened for 4 min and I don’t think I can do it), if no one trades with them, they will have to make a pick at 30. It sounded like a threat.
