Gugny Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Two Flaz stories that exemplify the kind of guy he was: 1. He knew that I was going to dinner with my girlfriend and two friends of ours. He knew the name of the restaurant and that my girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary. Shortly after we were seated, our server brought us four margaritas and told us “these are on Dave.” 2. When I bought a boat, he got his hands on my home address and surprised me with a hook remover to keep on the boat. Great guy. 2 1 4 1 Quote

Royale with Cheese Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago RIP Dave. He was always a pleasant guy when I interacted with him. Really hate that his last few years of his life were a struggle. As a Bills fan, it really sucks he never saw a Super Bowl win. 1 Quote

Rubes Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So strange...I've been coming to this site almost daily for the last, what, almost 30 years? Yikes. I feel like I should at least recognize most everyone here, but I honestly don't remember Flaz at all, and that makes me feel bad. Sounds like he had a rough go of it there, and it always makes me sad when a Bills fan passes before getting to see them win it all. RIP. 1 Quote

At one time flaz was a pretty big regular and spent a lot of time in the shout box with us. Besides being a huge bills fan, he loved fishing and watching golf. The last few years have been particularly hard for him. The death of his wife, the death of his mom, his house in Fort Myers demolished by a hurricane. Then cancer. he was a good guy who was fun to talk with. There was a day that he was down on his luck and a bunch of us got together and had a lasagna delivered to his house. Lol. he was touched by that. thanks for spending so much time with us flaz. You were good people. Here is his obituary: Dave was born on March 16, 1954, at Cuba Memorial Hospital in Cuba New York to his loving parents, Donald E Williams, Sr. and Jean Carol (Nunamaker) Williams who preceded him in death. Dave was one of three brothers. In addition to his parents, his brother, Donald E. Williams, Jr. from Cuba also preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Douglas E. Williams of San Rafael California. Dave had graduated in the class of 1972 from Cuba Central High School and had further education, but no advanced degrees. He worked primarily as a flooring technician at Total Flooring in Cape Coral, and for a short time he operated Williams Flooring. Dave also worked as Facility Manager for Tech Fiberglass in Tucson AZ for 5 years in the mid 2010s. Dave was devoted to his partner of over 40 years, Shirley Vale of Cape Coral, Florida. His brother Douglas will miss him greatly and remembers him as a good man who lived life to the fullest day by day. Dave was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golf, billiards and kayaking. He was also a dedicated Buffalo Bills Fan and probably still is. He will be missed by many beloved family members including his brother Don’s spouse, Katie (Learn) Williams and their children David Williams, Audra Metz, Barbara Williams and Michael Williams, Douglas E. Williams and spouse, Lisa Diamond Williams and their 2 children, Olivia Williams and Zachary Williams his spouse Benita Horl Williams, their son Ira Gunther Williams. Although Dave fathered no children, he was a father figure to Shirley’s daughters Cheri and Nichole and a loving step grand -dad to their children Rachelle and Brian, Scott and Michelle respectively. RIP FlAz. A good man went home. He dealt with A Lot for a long time, and did as well with it as anyone could and better than most. 59 minutes ago, Rubes said: So strange...I've been coming to this site almost daily for the last, what, almost 30 years? There is probably something worse than watching the bodiesl of two people you love continue to breathe and eat (kinda) and excrete, while everything that made those people who they are, slips away due to dementia and you're dealing with the wreckage of your loved one's mind. But right now, having watched that go down with my late FIL, I can't think of it. And Flaz was in the thick of it every day as a daily caregiver. Edited 1 hour ago by Beck Water Quote
