I know not everyone listened to Beane's presser yet but I made mention during our draft special right before his press conference about Dewayne Carter starting to focus more on being a 1 tech instead of playing the 3 Tech based on what he showed last year and wouldn't you know it in Beane's press conference he mentions and hints at the possibility of Carter playing both but putting more of his focus on playing the nose.

So, is Carter trying to get bigger and stronger to handle the different demands of 1 tech?  If that is the intention of the Bills, then Derrick Harmon as draft pick makes a certain kind of sense.  It would give Buffalo a pure 1 tech and a pure 3 tech in Jones and Oliver (even though Oliver has filled in at 1 tech when necessary) plus a couple guys who can flip back and forth in Carter and Harmon.  As long as they have enough beef to hold up in run defense, it gives them lots of flexibility, something the Bills seem to love.

He doesn’t have to get bigger for the Bills system. Harrison Phillips was a 307 pound 1T here and Carter is 305. Might they ask him to gain 5-10 pounds, maybe, but there is a misconception on this board that the Bills are going to take a 320+ guy and plug him in there. It’s what fans want but it’s not what the Bills do. 
 

Star was 315, Jones is around 315, Phillips is around 307. If Ogunjobi plays there some hes around 305 as well

Really well done, guys. Listened to the whole 2 hours while on a long walk and both of you sounded as knowledgeable and entertaining as you seem on this board. I was surprised UCLA DT Josh Farmer didn't enter your discussions for any of the Round 2 picks, especially for Buffalo. It feels like he's a Bills' favorite.
