Interesting how Gunner Bill has not chimed in on this thread...

Maybe he's busy in Beanes war room as we speak getting his brain picked for this draft 🤔

I havent read the thread yet, but I'll preemptively thank everyone that mentioned me. You are all too kind. And good on ya for being able to recognize genius when you see it.

I thought you meant who would you choose to announce our draft picks, like Pancho Billa (RIP) or Kyle Brandt.

When was the last time we took an Ohio State guy? Cardale Jones or Adolphus Washington? We haven’t had really good luck outside of the DBs back in the day

Besides those two you mentioned in 2016, there was also:

Donte Whitner 2006

Ashton Youboty 2006

Tim Anderson 2006

Nate Clements 2001

Antoine Winfield 1999

List is from 1998 on. Any more are here:

Certainly not the TBD consensus after that trainwreck of a 2.0 mock draft 😆

There are very distinct draft camps.  There are groups of people who want to draft a WR first round every year no matter what.  A group that want to draft a pass rusher every year no matter what.  Then a group that  thinks whatever position we need just draft the guy with the fastest 40 time and we'll be all set.  Finally there is a group that actually sees nuance and in game production and weights needs and skills with draft position to come up with some pretty interesting scenarios.  In the end there are so many takes.  I'd probably be no better at picking someone to draft for us than I would actually drafting players.  Part of the fun is seeing how things turn out after time.

Then there are guys like me who only moderately pay attention to the draft and then just research the players we got afterward.

I haven't really paid much attention since we found our QB. Back then the draft was everything because actual football games were laborious.

Don’t know who’s be first, but I’d definitely put myself last.  I don’t have near the knowledge of all the nuances that would go into evaluating players

I appreciate the humble realism and am in the same boat.  I watched precisely zero college games last year and am not a skilled evaluator in any case.
