Agreed.  Knowing Beane if he cam trade back a few spots and still get a player they want ( see the 30 player visits) and pick up a 3rd round pick,he will do it.

I have all the confidence in the world that I will goth bed on Thursday unsatisfied.

Here are my hopes for the Bills strategy.  Starting/difference making players at CB and DT, and if the draft falls well WR, S, and LB.  Then depth and special teams.  I think there's a decent chance we can get 3 starters.  The only thing I don't know is where the needs lie after CB and DT.  Do we need a S more than LB?  Probably, unless there's injuries at LB but there always are.  A WR that has separation would be great but not an absolute need.

Where's our pass rusher for when Bosa gets injured or needs a massive raise after his one year rental.

I want an AJ upgrade big time. Need a second DT and second CB , safety project  later

 key words are the bolded.

allen2moulds is right onto something there :)

Yeah, good point.  Bosa will probably get hurt at some point.  Didn't our rook from last year have some potential though?  I'm blanking on the name.

Trade up ... if the right guy is there moving towards you and you don't have to give up picks in day one or two. That's day one or two this year and every year going forward. Don't give away high-value picks in future years. Just don't do it unless you are desperate for a franchise QB, and we are very much not.

Trade back ... especially if you can pick up the kind of pick you shouldn't trade away, day one or two picks this year or in the future.

More picks means more chances to get a terrific bargain.

There's a reason this is the standard wisdom. They've done academic studies on this and they all say the same thing, and that is that trading up with big assets lowers your overall chances of success, whereas trading down raises your chances.

GMs, and armchair GMs as well, tend to think they know best which guys will turn out best. That's a mistake of perception. We can figure out guys who have higher odds and guys who have lower odds, but there's a reason that about half of all first rounders under-produce according to standards you'd expect from their draft slot. Predicting the draft is just a hell of a lot harder than it appears. That's why more picks is better.

A Man's got to know his limitations lol

and this most likely how our disciplined Gm functions. But sometimes if you know its the Guy without doubt and consensus. You have to spend.

There was risk with Allen , but a severe need. They made the right pick for Buffalo !
This time get the guys you feel are surefire starters in the 1st 2-3 picks and do what ya gotta do to make the sweet spot happen.

That's my only counter point #1 :)

Lets sure hope not about Bosa, but he might be a boom or bust guy. Lets hope he plays well all the way through the SB

Yes I don't recall anyone truly standing out from the edge. guess that might be the point Ron . Thanks

The odds are in your favor.  Hell they are for many of us.

I may not even know if I like it till quarter of the season has passed. lol

Isnt he more of a "move" type of pass rusher ? Line him up for the mismatch ??

I am not down on the guy by any means

He's like lorenzo alexander imo.  He's played DT, DE, OLB, etc.  He even started at MLB due to injuries at his DT playing weight.

All depends who’s is available at what pick

Agree....let the draft come to you. There are mocks where Baron falls to 30.  Picks like Amos, Grant or Harmon would also work. It has to be a starting impactful defensive player.
