CB and OT was a consideration here. But the chance to take the top safety in the draft - with Harrison Smith approaching 37 years old and no real depth there at all, we think the value and fit are perfect. DC Flores will have no problem integrating him into the defense. He can play in the box and tackle. He can cover. His instincts are tremendous. A starter from day 1, he is the future of our back end. The Texans and @CNYfan are on the clock. I like you man. You're a cool guy, never let anyone tell you otherwise. Now, had you selected someone else, this message would have looked a little different 😜 I just realized there's another player who's fallen in this draft that I really want for the Bills. So there's two really good options still here for us. Edited Wednesday at 03:13 PM by Virgil 3 Quote
Virgil Posted Wednesday at 03:24 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 03:24 PM I wonder if the Texans would consider Tyler Warren, TE, Penn St here. They need receiver and Offensive line help, but Warren and Shultz could be great together, and Warren can block. I see this as similar to the Bills when they drafted Kincaid. 1 Quote

CNYfan Posted Wednesday at 03:39 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:39 PM With the 25th selection in the 3rd TSW 2025 Mock Draft the Houston Texans select Josh Conerly, JR OL Oregon. The Texans have to redo their OL and while they signed two veteran tackles to 1 year deals this FA off season they see Conerly, Jr. as a tackle in the future, but can definitely slot in at a guard this year and then take over at tackle next year. The versatility was key. Speaking of versatile the Grey Zabel thought was there but Houston sees Zabel as IOL only and at this point they would like the upside of a tackle. Josh Simmons was also under heavy consideration but the injury scare steered them toward a player they see as a great fit now and in the future. The LA Rams and @MrEpsYtown are on the clock. 2 Quote

Do the Rams accept? Buffalo trades: #30 (620) + 109 (76) + 206 (8.6) = 704.6 Rams Trade: #26 (700) 4 Quote
frostbitmic Posted Wednesday at 04:02 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:02 PM Is there a player for the Bills that you feel you need to move up 4 spots for ? ... If so and you have a willing dance partner, DO IT. Could picks 109 & 206 be used to move back into the 3rd round ? ... Just a thought anyway. Quote

I personally would have moved up sooner, but this trade is what was voted for in the poll. 2 Quote

Virgil Posted Wednesday at 05:01 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 05:01 PM Poll is up! This might be one of the easier polls I've made. The board fell beautifully. And even though there are multiple people I would take, I could also see the next 4 teams taking them, so I'm good with the trade up here. 1 Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted Wednesday at 07:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:12 PM And early returns point to a NT again LOL So the people in the draft have thought CB mostly and the board wants a NT Quote

To me, if the board fell this way, I would have stayed put at 30, and then traded right back up using both of our seconds. To walk away from this draft with Grant and Amos would be huge for me. Any other draft picks would be a luxury to me at that point. 3 1 1 Quote
CNYfan Posted Wednesday at 07:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:27 PM It has to be CB, especially after BBB's comments on the three down CB as opposed to the two down DT Quote

I think the Giants would be in legit play to move up from 34 to get him, and there is obvious connection and relationship between our 2 front offices. Dart seems like a Daboll guy and talk has been they have legit interest. So lets say Dart is on the board there and Giants want to make the move. - We send 30 & 132 (our late 4th) and get back 34 & 99 (Their 2nd pick in the 3rd round). At 34 we can still probably land one of the coveted CB's or DT's, maybe even one of Amos or Grant. Now armed with a pick in the 3rd at 99, Bills could use that and maybe another day 3 pick like 109 to get as high as pick 38/39 without giving up our other 2nd rounder. Personally, if we did trade back and land a pick in the 3rd, I think I would rather stay at 56 and keep the extra 3rd so we can target a deep threat, someone like WR Donte Thornton who I don't think makes it to us in the 4th personally. But none the less, that 3rd gives them more trade up ammo without having to lose one of our 2nd's to get a guy they may covet at whatever position they didn't go with our initial pick. I know in this mock that isn't an option as we set out to do one with a trade up, which is also a viable option come draft day. But just in general, I have been thinking that Dart being there at 30 could create an interesting small trade down opportunity potentially with someone like Giants or even Browns. Other teams could be in the mix if Beane was willing to go back a little further, but Giants would make a lot of sense. Edited Wednesday at 08:25 PM by Alphadawg7 4 Quote

Virgil Posted Wednesday at 08:32 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:32 PM (edited) I'm surprised to see Grant being favored over Harmon. I know that Grant is bigger, but only by 20 pounds. Is Harmon not considered big enough to be a 1T and run stuffer? @Mike in Horseheads The Bills poll doesn't end until 10p, so you have until tomorrow at 11a to make your pick, just a heads up.
