I love Tre, but man this really annoys me with Beane. The defense has been the reason we've been bounced every single post-season, and he continues to just go sign the same old vets year after year, and then wonders why we can't get over the hump to get to the SB.

I like the the move. If he can be 80% of what he was we've got a decent cb room pre-draft. Hopefully now 2 years out from achilles he's closer to his old self. Took him 2 years to get over the knee.

Worried he's cooked though. Didn't see a lot last year but what I did wasn't good.

Worth the risk.

I don't think he is cooked.

He may not be. He had a slow recovery on the knee, maybe the same is true on the Achilles.

Worth a shot.

If this is a “player/coach” type move, we overpaid by about $6.7 million.

My guess is the 'up to' is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Great signing, Tre is 2 years removed from his surgery and looked healthy in the playoffs with the Ravens.  We need an experienced CB  and he’ll be a leader on the defense with his Bills background. I think he has plenty left. With a quality 2nd or 3rd rd. CB, and a penetrating DT that will be an anchor for our D-line all of a sudden we have filled all of our defensive needs.

UP TO

I'm guessing it's really closer to $3M base. Maybe even less. If we end up paying him anything close to $6.8M that will be a good thing because it means he's had a huge resurgence and hit a bunch of incentives. But that's an unlikely scenario.

He looked really bad on the Rams at the beginning of last season. I wasn't paying attention to how he was doing on the Ravens. I think he did pretty well in the playoff game. He had a pass interference against Keon along the sideline on a deep pass, but I think it was kind of BS.

It was a terrible call on a crucial play, but it played a big role in the Bills winning the game.

He looked fine (not great) on the Ravens. On the Rams, sure, but I am betting 99 percent of people on this board are basing that on him getting absolutely cooked by Jamieson Williams in a prime time game. He has never been an elite man corner; his calling card is matchup zone, which the Bills run.

LFGooooooo

Edit: we still need a starting boundary CB but I like Tre in a support role. Also, he makes sense to me as a FS in a pinch. Could a position switch be in the cards?

He’s a very replaceable player.  He should in no way shape or form detract them from drafting a CB

I’m not suggesting he should ,..and the additions of Tre or Jackson shouldn’t either … im hoping that someone they draft is in fact the CB2 Week 1

I was really hurting for Trae when he suffered that 2nd injury. Between that 1st injury and this year was a time when, if healthy, he should have enjoyed his prime and established himself as a HOF caliber corner. He certainly put in the work. I don't know what will happen, but no one will be happier if he has a great year.

lol at those complaining about the money without knowing specifics. Especially those that are labeling this a 6.8M contract.

if the contract is 6.8M gtd, we all have something to complain about. It won’t be.  Probably not very close to that.  I’d be surprised if we give him half of that gtd. I’d guess about 2.5M gtd or less.  While that would be an overpay if he plays like he did last year, I think being another year removed from his injury will lead to better play.  How much better?  🤷🏻‍♂️ might be a good deal.  Might be a bad deal.  Either way, I love Tre White.  Always will. Considering our current CB room, I’m glad he’s a Bill.  I’m not confidant that he’ll be any good tho 😔
