Bon Jovi delivered music that got the youngins up and dancing. When Bon Jovi is played, the majority of us middle age folks sing along. He's smart in marketing and writing music that goes along with the marketing.

His music to me is meh. So much better out there. Honeymoon Suite were about the same time, and their music is superior to Bon Jovi.

Augie you seem like a guy who stays pretty well connected to your WNY roots.  Did you not follow the Sabres in 05-07?  I'm just genuinely curious.  Obviously there's no right or wrong answer

I moved to Cincinnati for college in 1977.   There was no way to follow out of market NHL teams then.

Gotcha.  You missed some good times in the late 90s and Mid 2000's...but it's a good thing you haven't had to watch them the last 14 years

I never hated Bon Jovi really.  I hated that there was a Toronto group with him as the face with hopes of purchasing the Bills and moving them.  It wasn't his fault, his dream is NFL ownership.

Who's bon jovi?

He was a really cute guy who started a rock band that sold over 100 million records that made him mega rich and he wanted to buy the Bills and move them.

Other than me?

I don't hold onto a grudge.  I share it willingly.

You’re not alone.  Even if his “music” wasn’t  the horrible scourge trash garbage waste excrement that it truly embodies, the BS he was slinging at Bills fans was enough on its own.

And he tried to pawn himself off as an actor.

Not a fan of his music. Don’t believe he would have been famous if not for his “Jersey” ties when Bruce was huge.

Not a fan of his interest in the Bills.  So double whammy.

Bunch of pretty boys playing pop metal on MTV?  The only surprise would have been if they somehow messed it up.

Yea, product of the MTV generation for sure. And like I had mentioned, product of the Jersey “rock scene” at the time…mostly consisting of Bruce with bon jovi, and to a lesser extent John Cafferty (played the music for Eddie and the Cruisers).

Bon Jovi had catchy tunes, but not the chops to have a real career beyond the MTV influence.

Don’t like his music. Doesn’t have the staying power as even some of the marginal acts out of the 80’s and I guess early 90’s. Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, Motley Crue and even Poison to name a few.
