Bradberry visits Bills

 

What do you think.  He's no spring chicken, but has had a nice career, most recently with the Philadelphia Eagles.  He's a bigger cornerback at 6'1"  and 210 lbs.  No burner, but fast enough, running a 4.5 40 coming out of college.  The fly in the ointment:  He tore his achilles in August last year, which is why he missed the 2025 season.  In September, he'll be just one year removed from what is one of the most devastating injuries a football player can have and cornerback is probably the position at which a torn achilles is the most difficult to deal with since he will have to make sharp cuts to stay with receivers.  The fact that he's visiting suggests he thinks he'll be able to come back this year.   If the Bills think he has a chance, they could probably sign him to a one year prove it deal that does not have much guaranteed money.  What do you think?

My guess is they are just updating information on him and getting a health check for down the road

Got a need at CB so I dont mind kicking the tires for cheap.  He does have a history with Beane and McDermott.  So they should have an understanding of what he can do in terms of processing.

He continues to be terrible and washed.

There are worse options out there. But this guy already put in his five or six years, he is the new Josh norman. He had a great run on a stack defense in Carolina which got him jump started.

I think the Bills take a CB with one of their first 3 picks and Beane is a wizard at late round finds. But there is a CB depth problem through the entire NFL. Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson at CB2 is the norm not the exception. Why not kick the tires

He flirted with moving to safety last off-season in Philly to prolong his career as he had a brutal 2023 campaign at outside CB.  It's possible that's what the Bills have that possibility in mind with him.

it also may be seeing if he’s a viable October phone call if injuries come at either group and a bandaid is needed

Made second-team all pro as recently as 2022.  But will be 32 before the season begins and is coming off the Achilles injury. 

 

I get the feeling BigAl is leaning Yes when presenting all the reasons we should lean No.  Even if he's recovered and proves to be a decent one-year rental at safety as Doc says, there's no future here.

He likely won't cost much and I'd at the very least bring him in to see if has anything to offer. Worst case scenario who turns into a Chase Claypool/Anquan Boldin at CB.

Love the idea of taking a flier on him, although would still want a CB drafted in Round 1 or 2 of the draft.

What happened when Tre went down,  it took him almost a full year to get back to being half of what he was, this guy may be good veteran back up but I'm not seeing him as a starter on the Bills . A lot depends on what he wants to get paid .

Eh I think if he’s super cheap it’s worth doing. You get a veteran voice in the room to mentor Amos/Hairston or whoever they draft in the first round. Dude has been to Super Bowls. It’s a very young DB room. Plus you get a contingency plan as a very experienced backup and you create smoke a smokescreen that your biggest hole on the roster is filled.
