We need a speed guy who can stretch the field, so I voted Evans. But Moulds, Reed, and Lofton are just better overall, so they would be better choices, honestly. But I feel like Evans met the spirit of the question more.

Without the migraines and injuries, though...

And a better ball tracker. So, Percy Harvin the deluxe model. I guess what I'm really looking for is DeSean Jackson. Now him in his prime in this offense would be INSANE!

This is not going to be popular but a young Sammy Watkins on this team would actually be amazing.

Amazing physical talent but injuries along with some mental problems made trading up for him.  His career in a nutshell.

TO is hands down the most talented. If you're looking for something that the Bills lack, and not just the best WR of the list, I think Lee Evans added to the current group would be the missing vertical threat that would not be a distraction in the "everybody eats" approach.

Interesting... Rashad 1 year 455 yards with the Bills, again probably mis remembering him... Even TO had like 800yrds  in 1 year with us. Somehow thinking Rashad was here longer... maybe it was just the fact he was a commentator who knows but in retrospect probably better choices... but cant change it now...

TO no disagreement from me... unless your name is Rice or Fitzgerald probably dont want to listen to arguments that as a career goes anyone is better... but again I was really basing it off of production as a Buffalo Bill...

That said, I do believe attitude means something I think Diggs is a prime example of what that type of behavior can do to a team.  However, if you are gonna go get a Diggs type aint no way in the world you are turning down a top 3 all time receiver in TO, so yes I agree even Beane would get him.  If you are gonna suck it up and get a Diva Owens would be one...  didnt he try to trade for Antonio Brown too?  Glad that didnt happen...

TO was a goof, true.  Diggs was a malignancy.

Owens was on his last legs in Buffalo but still racked up 800+ with Trent and Fitz tossing.  He amassed 5265 yards over 4 years with Jeff Garcia. He then walked into Philly and picked up 1200 off McNabb immediately.  3600 in Dallas in 3 years.  He was huge, strong, fast and produced day 1 with each new team.  Rice is the GOAT and will never be topped.  Fitzgerald was one of the all time greats, but only has more yards because he played 2 more seasons and 44 more games than TO.  TO had32 more TDs and more yards per game.  Had he played as long as Fitzgerald he would easily be #2 all time.

The OP started a thread about former Bills who would be best (in their prime we assume) for Josh.  It would be hands down a beast like TO.  Moulds, Reed, Evans (forget nearly all of the rest) don't come close other than as sentimental considerations.  Lofton may enter the conversation I would say.

TO would be Josh's dream receiver--easily the best he has had or could ever have (Diggs is the only solid WR he has played with).

2020 Diggs

Seconded.

Alas, this regime is unlikely to pursue a true WR1 again like Diggs was in 2020.  They've convinced themselves that an ensemble cast of WR3's is just as suitable to enter the 2024 and 2025 seasons.  Didn't work against quality teams to begin 2024...and won't this year either.

TO was a goof for sure... but wouldn't say he was a bad teammate like Diggs. I was the original poster and I was looking at the past Bills and their careers with the Bills aka the value they brought to the Bills . BUT if I am looking at those receivers in their prime despite the team they were on I think Lofton in GB/Buffalo skipping the Raiders and TO pre Bills are the only real choices. Reed and Moulds to me would be the best in their Prime in Buffalo

I assumed it was the version of the Bills receiver that we had when they were with the team, so not TO because he wasn't in his prime here. But, each can interpret it how they will.

Jerry Butler would have been known as the best WR in Bills history had he not gotten hurt.  He would be ideal.  Duby would be my second choice, would definitely stretch the field.

Agree on Butler.  Dubenion is before my Bills fandom.  Butler had speed and great hands.  He was also a great fit in terms of team chemistry.  I couldn't tell you what kind of route runner he was as my evaluation skills were even more crude than they are now.  If I remember, he was about 6'1" - not super tall but easily suited to be an outside receiver.

My mind said Evans, for that speed, but then it said how bout Moulds, and then it said “what, no Peerless Price?

but ultimately my heart won out, and I voted Andre Reed. The Hall of Famer would still be amazing in today’s game.  He was so fun to watch with Kelly, he would be even better with Allen.
