one consideration is picking at 30 you are often compromising on *something*

a guy with a weak 40 but decent production

a guy with the talents but missing matching production

tons of potential but maybe an injury history

or a second tier position

I guess the question is how often should that compromise be elite playmaker at key position but risks making off field headlines

In the end, Beane doesn't care about that.  It's a business--he knows this far into his regime that he has to deliver at least a SB appearance.  Fans absolutely won't care about off field stuff if there's a Lombardy--no fan base would ever loose a wink of sleep over that.

Beane has shown he has the ability to whiff on a late 1st round pick for any or all of the reasons you listed. He might as well TRY to pick an actual elite player-even one with issues off the field.

Reid has no problem focusing these kind of guys when it counts, you know.....

Moulds.  Lofton in his prime, but that's not when the Bills had him.  Same for TO.  I can't speak as to Butler or Dubenion.

I really long for the offseason where we don’t debate what has-been would be better on the current era Bills.

That said, the answer is and will forever be, Moulds.

I agree with you Chans.  The past is the past.  My vote was also Moulds though as he had the speed, size, and hands to create separation.
