American sports fans simply cannot satisfy their hunger for NFL content (at the expense of every other pro league too). The fact that they look sideways at the UFL (if they truly look at all) confirms that they see not a penny to be made by associating with this stuff. That sounds even worse than their show to announce the schedules for the upcoming season. Quote

And he would gamble on sports like Peruvian girls' basketball, trying to get some wins to offset his losses. Buddy of mine won $500 betting on Chinese table tennis because it was the only thing on at 2:30 am when he was up 1 Quote

AAF was fun because they had all sorts of former NFLers that you knew, like Trent Richardson and Johnny Manziel. XFL was a reboot of one of the greatest failures ever. The UFL is just boring football. There’s nothing interesting about it. There’s no star power, the stadiums have maybe 2,000 people inside, and they don’t try to be anything different. Its football in the same way that hydrogen peroxide is substance to an alcoholic I don't get this take. Yeah, they are both 4-down football but there are a ton of differences. The biggest is being able to hear coaches, players and referees live in-game. Then there's 1, 2 and 3 point-after TDs. (No kicking XPs.) The dynamic kickoff that the NFL adopted was created in the XFL (now UFL.) They also invented the 4th and 12 version of the onside kick. Quote

You'll have to wait a very long time to see the dynamism of 1,2,3 point tries after a TD: after the first 3 games, 6 of the 8 teams have 5 or fewer total TDs. Through 3 weeks the best team (undefeatedDC) kicked twice as many FGs as scored TDs. What's there to listen to from the coaches? "Let's punt/kick a FG here"? But is having a microphone on the coach really that interesting? Like, you’re not hearing Andy Reid or Sean McVay on the sideline, you’re hearing no one special. The XP thing is interesting, granted, but there’s not a lot of scoring to begin with. Quote

If they’re not on I have absolutely zero interest in seeing some minor league product. But I’m not writing this to piss on your thread, just stating how I feel Obviously there are some people who are enjoying it. I wish the NFL had farm teams the way MLB uses the minor leagues. The NFLPA could allow practice squad players on those teams, and then there’d be a reason to watch, and get excited. Tyrell Shavers could be a stud on the Batavia Bobs… 1 Quote

I will watch football if it is available. Wanted to get into the EFL but they want a $120 subscription. With two free options, I'll stick to Youtube recaps. I am a DC Defenders fan because I feel like their fanbase is closely related to ours with the tailgating (beer snake) and the lemon incident. Looking very good so far this year, had our whole coaching staff quit a week before the season and haven't missed a beat at 3-0. If you are an old person like myself (40+) the UFL's brand of football will be instantly recognizable as very 90s. While the NFL did have some elite QBs then, most of the QB play was mediocre at best. That's about where the UFL is at. Old? 40+????? Wow.... 1 Quote
stuvian Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM Posted yesterday at 02:49 AM I've watched bits and pieces. They could do a better job marketing former NFL players. I fully expect that one day soon, the NFL's greed will send everything crashing down. Having the UFL will be handy when it happens. 1 Quote

Also being able to hear the officials discuss calls. I find it very interesting. At least you can understand why certain calls get made, unlike the NFL. Quote
