McDermott gets his share of the blame, yeah, but so does everybody else. 1 Quote
Dan Darragh Posted yesterday at 08:09 AM Posted yesterday at 08:09 AM Pats should have fired Mayo before the game instead of after, it would have helped them lose. Or at halftime, a reverse-Vonte. Quote

I appreciate the discussion and new ideas, but I hate these ideas for the NFL. No system is going to be absolutely perfect, but I think the NFL has the best draft system/process for the type of league it is. We already have great parity in the NFL. Especially compared to any other sports league. No need to make changes. Tanking almost never works out because the current coaches and players don't want to lose and care too much about their jobs, which is a good thing. It backfired on the Dolphins, Texans, and now Pats. And even with it backfiring on the Texans, they still landed the better QB anyways. The simple system the NFL has right now is the best for the NFL, imo. 2 Quote

Lottos fix nothing. I think Gonzaga could’ve beaten the squad the Raptors have been rolling out. Quote

And their draft (and the NHL draft) doesnt go nearly as deep as the NFL's. Just completely different animals. Quote
Logic Posted yesterday at 05:37 PM Posted yesterday at 05:37 PM (edited) I always think it's hilarious when tanking teams win a meaningless game or two and lose out on the top pick in the process. The Jets were on a path to getting Trevor Lawrence who -- say what you want about him -- is definitely leaps and bounds better than Zach Wilson and at least still has hope of becoming a genuine franchise QB. But they just haaaad to win a meaningless game that year and lose out on the top pick. Instead of having a Trevor Lawrence and Garrett Wilson pairing to go with their good young defense, they had Zach Wilson, then Aaron Rodgers. Winning one meaningless late season game literally did them YEARS of damage. Last year it was the Pats, who would surely love to pair Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter (or a boatload of draft picks) with Drake Maye. Now they may end up with an offensive or defensive tackle, who I'm sure will be fine players, but certainly not the potentially franchise altering players Hunter or Carter may be. It's always funny. Every single time. Edited yesterday at 05:37 PM by Logic 2 Quote

Buffalo716 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago McDermott didn't cost them anything lol The biggest mistake ever is fans and armchair GMS thinking players on the team care about draft position Dude if you're on the team that gets the first overall pick in the NFL draft.. and you're a fringe player on that team.. you're losing your career The smartest players are guys on bad teams who bust their asses week 14 through 17 trying to play good and put something on tape for another team nobody is trying to be on the worst team in the league cuz your next stop is out of a job Quote

Kind of sucks they fired him, was hoping they would give him another year 😂. Why would they hire him as a HC with Zero experience an awful personality to lead men? Makes no sense. They got a good one now. You didn’t see Ray Handley lol. 1 Quote
