As draft approaches, reminder that McD cost the Pats a 1st overall pick!

Jerod Mayo worst coach of all time. Kind of sucks they fired him, was hoping they would give him another year 😂. Why would they hire him as a HC with Zero experience an awful personality to lead men? Makes no sense. They got a good one now.

Agreed. Without him, we'd already have 6 SBs.

Pats fans are still pretty salty about that, especially as the draft approaches.

They still will end up with a good player and depending the way the board falls and who is left at 4, the opportunity to trade back for a nice package of picks. 

 

I think if they had the #1 they either trade out or take Hunter. At 4 they either trade out or can take a guy like Jeanty.

 

I don't feel bad for them.

If they don’t get Hunter or Carter - at least for now - that would be tremendous.  
 

Somehow the top 3 picks are going to screw this up.  
 

 

The only one of those top 3 picks that could trade back with the Pats is the Browns.  
 

If they really want a QB first, that’s what they could do.  The risk is would the Giants take the QB they want if Hunter and Carter go 1-2

They would have traded the pick for a king’s ransom and moved down a couple spots.  This indeed was a kick in the nasty decrepit junk of Robert Kraft.

NFL could fix this.

Instead of giving the team with the worst record the 1st pick, give the team with the most wins after they have been eliminated from playoff contention.

Gives teams incentive to win, and teams incentive to beat them.

The Pats were stupid for trading their backup qb to Dallas. They're betting everything on Drake Maye. I mean, I think most people think Maye is gonna be pretty good, but what if he's not? What if he's an absolute bust? I don't think their draft position will play any part in whether they're successful or not in my honest opinion

If the game had meant something to the Bills and he rested the starters...sure.  But the Bills had nothing to play for so the Patriots' starters (save QB) played the Bills' backups and won.

Milton has some tools, but if all he was getting in a trade was essentially a 6th round pick even after his decent PS and week 18 game, he isn’t going to amount to much. It’s not like he was some under the radar prospect like Purdy that the NFL missed one. Teams trust their evaluations. Except Jerry Jones

 

I was hoping they’d keep him purely for the controversy from fans 😂

The beauty of the Bills losing that game is that the Pats are in a really bad spot right now…they are likely going to miss out on the three blue chip players in this draft, and there’s no one worth taking at 4…they’d love to trade back but probably no takers.

So the team in the crappy division just gets screwed over. Even the worst teams in a division are still mathematically alive when the first place team is around or below 500. I’d love to see someone put together the draft order based on this system. I bet the results would be very erratic and nonsensical.

My thoughts exactly. He was hired to fail but then the approach screwed them over in the end. I love it.
