Wow, Saints fans must be completely devastated today, inconsolable, and praying for a good outcome.

Or their dreams of Carr leading them to a best case scenario, 5-12, or maybe even  a 6-11 season, if everything falls into place this year, will be trashed.

Maybe Bills fans can do something for them in their time of need?

Agree. I think Carr is a real high character guy, and I like him for that. But he seems way too inconsistent or even washed. He’s not going to get anyone to the playoffs.

I don't necessarily agree with that. He may say all of the right things off the field, but watch his body language on the field when something goes wrong. He's a grandstanding prick to teammates and coaches.

My wife is from NOLA and is a Saints fan, and I lived there for 7 years and have a lot of friends who are Saints fans, so I've seen more than my fill of Carr as a Saint. Don't know if he was like that as a Raida (I imagine he probably was), but I don't get the impression he's well liked by the Saints fan base because of his on-field behavior combined with the fact that he doesn't have the game to back it up.

This is probably for the best and they'll start Rattler this year.

If the Saints tank the season for the #1 pick in 2026, Manning will come out. Another Manning as the Saints QB would make the Football world right again.

If they do go for a QB this year, I'd bet on it being Dart, I think the Raiders take Sanders.

Trade for Olave.

Yeah. If Carr can’t go this season then NO may change their mind on trading Olave. Might as well tank properly.

They are one of the oldest teams in the league. I don't know that there's a great QB in this draft. I became a fan of Rattler after the Netflix QB series. They should give him a year as they rebuild the roster.

Olave is a concussion away from retiring.

How much would you give up for that kind of player?

This seems to be the dilemma at the moment. Do they just punt on 2025 and try to get the hometown hero? Do they like Sanders or Dart enough to take them at 9 and start them right away?

I would punt on 2025, get Manning in 2026.  Id shed as much cap as possible.  Extend core players.  Load up on draft picks in 2025 and 2026

Not to mention, Carr was Dennis Allen's boy from his time with the Raiders. He was the head coach when he was drafted and he's the one that wanted him in NOLA. If I was Kellen Moore I'd do everything I could to take this opportunity to rid myself of this headache before it starts.

When they signed him, that division was horrible and he was the best QB in the division very quickly, but now he’s probably the worst (assuming Bryce Young continues to ascend)

NO kicked the can so far down the line, they have maybe the 20th best QB in the league (at best) and bad roster around him. They need to clear all those contracts and start fresh. Give Moore a mulligan year and suck

Raiders didn’t hire a 70 year old coach and trade for Geno to take a QB in the top ten

They are going to try to establish a winning culture and then add the QB later

His concussion history (five since 2020, I believe) would make him relatively cheap in trade. You don’t often find a WR of his caliber (when healthy) available at the kind of discount he’d warrant at this point. I do not think he’s a great fit for the Bills because of that uncertainty, but he’d be the best WR on the team if we did acquire him. As long as he stayed healthy, that is.

Now, if I were a team that is rebuilding I’d definitely take a shot at him so long as the trade compensation is as reasonable as I think it would be. This is year 4 of his rookie deal so a decision has to be made soon on his 5th year option. That’ll probably be about $15M. So that factors into it too. Is your team willing to take that risk? One last thing - I don’t know Olave’s feelings, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to move on. Carr is not the QB that I’d want to have throwing me the ball if I was worried about taking unnecessary hits.

Only signing Geno for two years screams bridge QB.

It's going to be awhile before the Raiders are competitive so why not go for the Sanders circus. When Coach Pete retires, the Raiders can hire Coach Neon.

Saw something about "why" this is coming out now.

One theory is this pets teams ahead of NO know NO may be going QB.

If you are Derek Carrs camp, QBs going before NO helps him keep his spot

Yes, definitely not a leader of men, not a leader.  Because of what you say, but also because he folds, almost always, when it comes to the big  games.

His clear lack of mental toughness is shown in how he behaves on the field, in his crying at press conferences, and his lack of ability to win big games.  And so zero playoff wins and zero playoff appearances in his 11 year career.  Almost hard to accomplish such a dismal feat.

When the Saints signed him to that huge guaranteed contract it also showed what a poor organization that is now.  @100 million guaranteed for a guy who has never led his team to the playoffs?  Who would ever consider such a stupid move? The Saints.  Maybe he signs with the Jets next year or Cleveland.

So while Carr had a really good arm, that is so much less important than what is between his ears.

Atlanta could maybe make a deal for cousins.  They would clear cap space and get draft picks from a division rival that is going to lose with or without cousins.

Do the Saints have enough talent on their roster to compete for the NFC South division if they swapped in Aaron Rodgers for Carr?  👀

The Saints have less talent than the Jets did last season. So…….what do you think?

Staying in school would be possible but I think if the Saints pick 1, he comes out. The roots are so deep in that organization and city with that family. Arch lives less than 15 minutes from the practice facility and dome. The Prince who was promised

College quarterbacks who leave with less than 15 career starts don't have good careers

Arch needs game reps.. more than one year.. the Manning family knows this.. his whole plan from the start was being on campus for at least 4 years

He's also not as polished as Eli or Peyton so .. I think he's talented I'm not ready to say he's going to be a 6 time all pro like his uncle
