Splashed into the Hudson with a missing tail and missing rotor. The thing seemed to be falling apart midair. Maybe it hit something? Horrible way to go, it smashed into the water upside down, killing two parents, three kids and the pilot.

Ho-ley Krikey!!- at least it was fast and confusing to those onboard. 

That might actually be about the best way to go- surprise and BOOM!

valid questions…they were asked after the last helicopter accident, so why are they not valid to ask now?

That exact copter had transmission problems in August.  Also the company had to replace the maim rotor blades because of delamitation.

When I lived in Hoboken there were adds for this everywhere. $30 was the cheapest ride. Mind you it was 6 minutes. But something about paying less than $100 to step foot on a helicopter seemed off to me - not the place I want to pinch pennies. 
 

Sad story, hope it was quick and they passed on impact rather than drowning. Awful.
