During college our now DIL flew to Australia for some program. The man sitting next to her on that very long flight was very quiet, for a very long time. She doesn’t like to talk about it so I avoid the tropic, but what do they do if somebody dies on a flight like that? I don’t think the path to Australia leaves you as many quick options as you’d like. Do you put him in a bathroom??? You can’t just leave him there!!! Imagine the commotion!

“Who wants to help carry the dead guy to the bathroom?”

I actually read about this the other day. If it's not a full flight, they will get people to move from the last rows and put the person there, covered up. If it's full, then they have to stay where they are, covered up. Flight crew cannot legally declare a person dead, only a doctor. They can continue on to the destination or drop them off at the next available airport.

Maybe you were the guy I didn’t like!  😊

In gym class at Casey Middle they had us swim (naked, but that’s another story) the length of the pool underwater. Some of the kids couldn’t hold their breath long enough, while some made it the whole length of the pool. I got to the other end, then turned around and went all the way back, still holding by breath. If only I could have made that work for me in some way…..  🤷‍♂️

Yeah... we did those underwater laps too and we also did them in the buff. Not at the same school but I'm thinking that was the routine most of the "athletic directors" used back then... maybe that kind of stuff was in their Teacher's Manuals? Although I loved being in the water swimming wasn't one of my favorite things... just splashing around and playing water related games was always a blast for me. Anyhoo... you would have blown my doors off in the underwater thing! I could make it all the way to the other end holding my breath... but just barely.

Now I'm in my 70's with chronic COPD from smoking for more than 50 years... just thinking about holding my breath makes me hunt down my puffer just in case :)

I played baseball a couple of years in middle school. Looking back, I didn't try as hard as I should have and I might have been decent if I practiced harder.

Once I got to high school, I picked up volleyball and really shined there.
