I think he signed a 1 yr 3.5 deal last year and will likely sign him back this year for less. Why not do it? He still has to make the team right? 2 Quote

Now it is fair to say we had less than zero dollars cap wise at that time and we have a bit more wiggle room now.... so that may have been a factor. But equally if there was minimal interest last year and he is a year older and was okay but no more than that this past year with Atlanta I'm not sure I see a move. That's the only thing preventing me from saying it's not an impossibly. His play has dropped off since then too so it's possible we could get him at a much lower cost with incentives but every move they've made at safety since Poyer and Hyde left tells me they want to get younger at the position. I think Hamlin adds depth while Forrest is their competition for Rapp/Cole. I think they will add a mid-rounder for depth/development given that Hamlin and Forrest are on one year deals. I'm not sure why people disagreed w/ this. Picking up Forrest, Cole in his 2nd year, Rapp coming back healthy - we're in good shape at safety. 2 1 Quote

Younger and cheaper, yep. Over the past two years there have been a LOT of good, solid, proven starting safeties on the market - including Simmons and Blackmon twice. And the Bills have made zero moves. Who knows if they tried and failed but we know nobody has joined. 1 1 1 Quote

DCofNC Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Please sign this guy, there’s not one safety on the roster that can hold his jock strap. It’s a huge and immediate upgrade. If I have to watch Hamlin get burned one more time I’m gonna hurl. 4 1 Quote

Bishop can learn from him and Forrest and get playing time to further develop. 1 Quote

This is probably his last year with the Bills, unless he stays healthy and is the same player he has been when healthy a warrants a mini extension. I hope he's a Bills lifer. They have Williams and are scouting off ball backers this year. 1 1 Quote

Hopefully Cole takes a leap forward but right now I feel we have four mediocre guys and no stars at that position. It's not the room you want if you have Lombardi dreams. Quote
BananaB Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Is one off-season enough for him to learn the playbook so McD puts him on the field over Hamlin Quote

I mean Williams is a FA after 26-27, and i didn't see anything in his time here to say he needs to be a long-term piece of the team. They absolutely should be scouting another linebacker imo until you find that guy. 1 Quote

Hamlin aint it, Rapp destroys all those around him including himself... and I am hopeful that Bishop can take the next step but until I see it color me cautious... the position is imo opinion... A bit unsettled... not saying he is the magic bullet... just saying I have one eye open on this position group. I would not be surprized if we still drafted a Safety in the first 4 rounds. 1 1 Quote
