Royale with Cheese Posted Tuesday at 07:34 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:34 PM I think this one is a tough one with many potential answers. I don't know maybe....Nate Odomes? Winfield was great but only here a few years. Same with Clements. Terrence McGee potentially ahead of Odomes? Quote
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted Tuesday at 07:36 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:36 PM (edited) Bob James. If only medical technology was 40 years further along when he tore a knee ligament cause in the 70's it was almost a sure career-ender Edited Tuesday at 07:39 PM by JÂy RÛßeÒ 20 3 3 Quote

I feel like I watch highlights of him still every month or so. 3 1 Quote

K-9 Posted Tuesday at 07:44 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:44 PM Robert James and it’s not even close. He was a shut down CB before the term was coined. Routinely shut down HOF receivers back in the day. And he was destined for a gold jacket until the knee injury robbed him of his career. 9 3 1 Quote
njbuff Posted Tuesday at 07:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:46 PM I’d say it’s Odomes. Once Odomes was able to lock down Duper or Clayton, that ENDED the Miami dominance over Buffalo. For that reason alone, I’ll give it to Odomes. 5 Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted Tuesday at 07:49 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:49 PM Butch Byrd, hands down. p.s. - This should be a poll. 2 5 Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted Tuesday at 07:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:51 PM (edited) As far as a complete career with the Bills, I'm giving it to Nate Odomes. Nate was solid throughout his 7 year stint. Winfield was never spectacular with us but played better as a Viking. McGee had 2 solid seasons in 04 & 05. And Tre had easily the greatest single season (2019) of any Bills CB. Benford is a good cb but needs more improvement in play making. James & Byrd deserve props for their play in that era. I never saw Byrd Sr play and vaguely remember James. All eyes were on 32. Sterling Sharpe is another guy that had GOAT potential. Health is such an underrated attribute as a player. Then u have iron men like Favre or Bill Romanowski who play with an almost reckless abandonment, but almost never sat out a game. I’m willing to bet they’ve most definitely played in games that regular NFL players wouldn’t. Higher pain threshold? Edited Tuesday at 08:00 PM by ChronicAndKnuckles 2 Quote
Sestak4ever Posted Tuesday at 07:55 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:55 PM Butch Byrd for sure. 40 interceptions, great punt returner, great support against the run. Was instrumental in beating the Chargers in the 1965 AFL championship with a punt return for a td and an interception of Hadl. Go Bills!🍻🏈 3 4 1 Quote

Terrence McGee was a pretty decent Corner and an elite Returner. But as a Corner, he wouldn't be that high up on the list. Edited Tuesday at 08:18 PM by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote
Augie Posted Tuesday at 08:01 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:01 PM (edited) Butch Byrd. All time leader in interceptions with 40 in 98 games in a time when there was much less passing. Tony Greene is 2nd with 37 INTs in 128 games. Byrd returned 5 of them for TD’s. He also covered Paul Warfield of the Dolphins in some classic matchups. My sister used to babysit his kids so I watched some games at his house, I traded football cards with his son and he was a great guy, but that doesn’t influence my decision. It doesn’t have to. .
