This is obviously not sustainable, so it will not continue. Knowing the Trump gang they are just playing the market. This all might be a great insider trading scheme to enrich themselves. When things look the worst he will say he won and end all this but not before his minions buy up huge amounts of stocks.

I've been saying that. Wait till we have someone analyze big trades ahead of the various Trump Admin noises, like the one that cause "Mount Hassett" in the intraday graph on Monday. At this point, it's Wait For The Polls as our best chance for restoring temporary sanity. 1
The Frankish Reich Posted Wednesday at 03:36 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 03:36 PM Wonky, but the analysis is solid: https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/the-cost-of-chaos-this-is-getting I don't understand the idea of pushing the world toward recession/depression, but then again I am not a MAGAite hell-bent on on a return to the early 1900s.

stevestojan Posted Wednesday at 05:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:53 PM (edited) The art of the flip flop. Chinese tariffs hurt the poor and uneducated the most. They’re getting what they voted for. Shame. Just glad it’s been 20 years since I stepped foot in the cesspool that is Walmart. But the gullible MAGAs are in for a shock next time they put on their finest sweatpants for a trip to wallyworld. Edited Wednesday at 05:56 PM by stevestojan 1 1

They think they are doing the right thing, but seems to have a poor understanding of economics. This might work if we had unused resources, factories tooled up and sitting idle, and a trained workforce ready to go. 1
B-Man Posted Wednesday at 06:33 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:33 PM The tariffs threat is still there. They continue to line to make deals. But you knew that. The Tariffs worked as planned. . 1 2
