If released it’s a yes. I just like that he doesn’t like Patrick Mahomes.

And the play was called back for roughing the passer because of the look he gave Mahomes as he ran by, right?

3.  First, that is kind of funny, dissing the Chiefs' fan when you are a Raider. Young kid, yeah, but what will he grow up to be?  A much bigger Chiefs fan.

And Jones says it was not as it appeared:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxHsWSl2I9o

So, go get him Beane!

I saw that. Seemed like an excuse after getting bad press bc that's easily remedied. You just point at the man and say it's for the kid - back off. Not to mention him laughing afterwords.

Sounds like a guy that could use some guidance. McD seems like he would be ideal in this scenario but I don’t think they are willing to disrupt the locker room.

I get your point about locker room disruption, but I think we are veteran enough that this guy could not cause a disruption.

Convicted of Burglary in 2018, arrested for bringing two loaded guns to the Airport in 2023 - those aren't disruptions so much as a criminal risk.

That's not even taking into account being immature enough to miss curfew on the road (which must have been pretty flagrant bc it's not something you hear of happening) and be cut for it. Or presenting a child fan of the opposing team a football and pulling it back on them on Christmas Day.

There's been no reports of anything happening in Vegas, but them cutting him as well is an eyebrow raiser - as their CB situation isn't very good either and they made the decision to cut ties with him too.

Do you still take on that salary if he's released? Not for a vet. Are rookies handled differently according to the CBA?

If he's released before the season starts, there's no salary due him since he's not a vested veteran (4 accrued seasons in the NFL).  If he's released after the season starts, I believe he just gets paid based on how many games he's played.

Thanks, but sorry, I don't get the second part:

Paid according to his rookie deal, but prorated?

So if cut before the season he's no longer earning his rookie deal but if cut after the season starts he has to earn his rookie deal numbers? That sounds confusing but I probably have it wrong. Thanks!

Yes if cut before the season starts he makes nothing and if cut after it's prorated using his scheduled salary ($3.4M, $200K/game).
