We already pick twice in the 2nd round at #56 and #62. Our 1st round pick at #30 is essence a high 2nd round pick. What do you think if we trade our 1st round pick and our two 4th round picks (#109 and #132) plus our three 5th round picks (#169, #170 and #173) in a series of trades so we end up with four 2nd round picks? That would still leave us with our two 6th round picks (#177 and #206) for flyers. I just think this team's roster is currently too deep for a 4th or 5th round drafted player to make the line up unless he is a specialist of some sort. On the other hand, we may NOT get four 2025 starters from four 2nd round picks but we very well may get 4 starters by 2026. Four 2nd round picks could get the Bills a DT, a OL, a WR....whatever that would either start in 2025 or rotate in enough to become a starter in 2025. I prefer the idea of drafting only players with the last name Williams… Quote

Matt_In_NH Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Not the way to think about the draft. An nfl team would never make a plan like this but it could work out that way. Not too likely however. It depends how the board falls with your valuation and others willingness to make trades with you. If you have a first round grade on a dt at 30 you take him. Quote

This has got to be an April Fools joke. Am I understanding this correctly? If I'm understanding your proposal, in effect the Bills would be trading 5 picks for an extra second round pick. 😗 However you try to spin this, it comes down to giving up 5 picks for a gamble on a second rounder. They'd effectively be swapping their 30 for #33 (in the best case scenario) and 5 other picks for a gamble on another second round pick somewhere in the 2nd round (best case scenario # 34). Duh. I like my odds better with the 5 picks. 19 hours ago, HIT BY SPIKES said: That would still leave us with our two 6th round picks (#177 and #206) for flyers. I like my odds better with the 5 picks. Beane has had pretty good success with mid to late round picks. They can have good value to a team like the Bills. Edited 9 hours ago by SoMAn Quote

Please tell me. ------------------------------- Those were my initial thoughts however I don't see one falling to where our 1st and one of our 2nd round picks gets us this defensive "game changer". Some of the biggest game wreckers in the league came from the 2nd round and deeper in the draft. This BS about not being able to get guys bc we draft too late has to stop. Every year, guys drafted after the 1st round have major impacts, unfortunately, more often than not, much more impact than the guys the Bills chose before them. 19 hours ago, Virgil said: For a draft with very few first round talent grades, I would be fine with this. However, I’m also fine with trading a 2nd and 1st to move up for a defensive game wrecker. In my eyes, the best case scenario would be a team is hoping to land Jackson Dart late in the first and is willing to swap next year’s first rounder to get into the first to get him. Sign me up! Mike in Horseheads Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Maybe the Bills should call mike Ditka for advice on how to trade your whole draft for a high 1st. Rickey Williams says it works for me Quote
