My reading for what it is worth is that the 2nd round is particularly deep with plenty of "value" this year.

We already pick twice in the 2nd round at #56 and #62.

Our 1st round pick at #30 is essence a high 2nd round pick.

What do you think if we trade our 1st round pick and our two 4th round picks (#109 and #132) plus our three 5th round picks (#169, #170 and #173) in a series of trades so we end up with four 2nd round picks?

That would still leave us with our two 6th round picks (#177 and #206) for flyers.

I just think this team's roster is currently too deep for a 4th or 5th round drafted player to make the line up unless he is a specialist of some sort.

On the other hand, we may NOT get four 2025 starters from four 2nd round picks but we very well may get 4 starters by 2026.

Four 2nd round picks could get the Bills a DT, a OL, a WR....whatever that would either start in 2025 or rotate in enough to become a starter in 2025.

I prefer the idea of drafting only players with the last name Williams…

Not the way to think about the draft.  An nfl team would never make a plan like this but it could work out that way.  Not too likely however.  It depends how the board falls with your valuation and others willingness to make trades with you.   If you have a first round grade on a dt at 30 you take him.

This has got to be an April Fools joke.

Am I understanding this correctly?

If I'm understanding your proposal, in effect the Bills would be trading 5 picks for an extra second round pick. 😗

However you try to spin this, it comes down to giving up 5 picks for a gamble on a second rounder.

They'd effectively be swapping their 30 for #33 (in the best case scenario) and 5 other picks for a gamble on another second round pick somewhere in the 2nd round (best case scenario # 34).   Duh.

I like my odds better with the 5 picks.

They'd effectively be swapping their 30 for #33 (best case scenario) and 5 other picks for a gamble on a single pick somewhere in the 2nd round (best case scenario is # 34 to go with #33). Duh.

I like my odds better with the 5 picks. Beane has had pretty good success with mid to late round picks. They can have good value to a team like the Bills.

In what way?

I have NEVER played Madden.

Is it fun?

Please tell me.

Those were my initial thoughts however I don't see one falling to where our 1st and one of our 2nd round picks gets us this defensive "game changer".

Some of the biggest game wreckers in the league came from the 2nd round and deeper in the draft.   This BS about not being able to get guys bc we draft too late has to stop.  Every year, guys drafted after the 1st round have major impacts, unfortunately, more often than not, much more impact than the guys the Bills chose before them.

For a draft with very few first round talent grades, I would be fine with this.

However, I’m also fine with trading a 2nd and 1st to move up for a defensive game wrecker.

In my eyes, the best case scenario would be a team is hoping to land Jackson Dart late in the first and is willing to swap next year’s first rounder to get into the first to get him.  Sign me up!

I’m not sure id describe trading up for Kaiir Elam as a wizard move

Nor watching KC jump right ahead of them to draft an All Pro.

As long as we do not trade with KC. I am sick of those threads

I can all but guarantee that we will never trade with KC again as long as Beane and McD are here.

From my perspective I would rather see the Bills move up in round one for a player they believe is a difference maker. I certainly would prefere that player be on the defensive side of the ball, but that is secondary to a player the Beane and McDermott believe is a difference maker.

I only came here because of your screen name...my wife literally met Takeo Spikes today in Vegas at NAB and sent me a picture with him.  She said he is "huge"...and I was like, hold up, what kind of "work" meeting was this?  LMAO All kidding aside, she said he was really nice and told him her husband was a die hard Bills fan.  He said Bills fan base is best in all sports

So he is still built like a truck.

He had a relatively short career in Buffalo but he was so fun to watch.

Yeah, I doubt that.  If trading them Mahomes wasn’t enough to stop them, I’m sure Worthy isn’t bothering them.   It’s pretty clear they were dead set on getting their 3rd rounder back for last year at whatever cost.  I will never understand how they thought a rotational DT was the key to winning vs getting an impact starter at WR or any other position, but then again, I don’t understand a lot of Beane’s moves or why people regard him as a genius.   Yes, he went all out for Allen and hit the grandest of grand slams, but since then, his track record for landing anything more than average talent is uninspiring at best.

This team is headed down the path of the Peyton Manning lead Colts.  Always good in the regular season, with an absolutely elite QB covering for all the deficiencies of the team around him, but continually beaten by an equally great QB paired with better coaches and a better defense.   Hopefully, we get as lucky as Indy and catch at least one SB on a down year for the Chiefs like Indy did.

He is still one of my all time favorite Bills, he was absolutely awesome when he was here.  He is one big man, there is no denying that, in today’s league he probably would be called an EDGE and be primarily used as a DE or OLB in a 34.  I could see him being an absolute menace if he was used like Parsons etc.  I feel like he was actually quite underrated, his first 6 seasons he had over 100 tackles, injuries got to him, but he was an absolute monster.

Because it is a ridiculous trade that would never happen. The Bills trade 6 draft picks for two 2nd round picks so they have 4 2nd round picks. It is just pie in the sky ridiculous and would never actually happen. Nobody ever makes moves like that. Ever.

For one thing, teams actually value having later round picks to spend on developmental prospects and depth.

Is there room on the roster for 5 premium draft picks (a 1st rounder and 4 2nd), players that you typically want to start right away? No, they would be sitting on the bench. AND your draft becomes very expensive cap wise. And then all their contracts would be up at the same time.

Maybe a team that is terrible and rebuilding. But even then, it just doesn't happen that way. For one thing, why would those teams want all our crappy day three picks to give us a premium pick?

I read an article about a guy who started with a paper clip and through a series of trades ended up with a used Dodge Caravan.  Anything is possible.
