Frequent flier miles?  🤷‍♂️

They know what their intentions are, and we don’t. I don’t know what, if anything, this means. It’s all smoke and mirrors at this point.

Maybe this is nothing, but I can’t recall something like this happening before.  Even if Ward is there guy, they still went to Sanders pro day.  Why would you not still have the workout and do your due dilligence?

To me, this means the competition between Sanders and Ward isn’t even close, which is what a lot of recent rumors have implied.  Some have Sanders and a low 1st round talent.

Cancelled their workout with Travis Hunter too. They're purposely telling the league "we're taking Cam Ward". I think it's a strategic move to get better offers from teams that may have fallen in love with him and need a QB. That's not to say they'll definitely trade the pick. They'll very likely just stand pat and take him. But it's obvious they want teams to know they're taking him.

Or think they are taking him.  This very well may be the way they try to drive up the cost of the #1 pick.  It might just work.  If I’m them, I don’t want the pick this year, I want to see if I can pull another first for next year along with a top 5 pick this year.  I’ll get a stud position player and set myself up for the future.

Only if Sanders goes in the top 3, which now seems like 50/50 at best.

I beg to differ. Tennessee selects Ward first overall. Sanders will most likely not get past the Giants. If so,  Hunter or Carter will be available with the Patriots 4th overall pick

I understand how it works…I’m just not convinced that the Browns or Giants will take Sanders instead of Carter or Hunter.

A very possible reason of why he may drop even further. What head coach is going to want that  hanging over their head.

And a QB who listens to his pops more than you and would torpedo you to get his dad in place?

Deion will the be coach of whoever drafts Shedeur in 1-2 years

If not the coach at the very least a very loud voice in the back ground and a huge possibility of being a huge PITA for what ever staff picks him up .

I feel like this thread has strong "aged like milk" potential. Everyone seems to be downplaying Sanders, myself included, but he's obviously a very talented prospect. He definitely gets more hype & attention due to his father, but we've seen players with famous pro athlete fathers barely get anywhere, so it's clearly not just that with Sanders.

I think the Titans just know who they're taking already. Some people may think they should still do their due diligence & hold the private workout, but the Titans likely  want to respect Sanders' time. Maybe he'll flame out, maybe he won't, but I think I've been a bit too dismissive of him due to disliking his father.

To be fair, there’s been a lot of greats who’s Dad’s played too, off the top of my head, Manning(s), Bosa(s), Surtain, Porter and I’m sure many more.  NBA, but Steph Curry, the Ball family, all pretty darn good.

His career is going to be somewhat telling as to how honest the draft analysts are.  It seems like most in the media are high on Sanders and predict big things.  If he tanks in the NFL well know it’s a lot of media hype

If "the NFL" -- professionals and fans alike  -- don't already know that all these media draft analysts are creating/feeding off hype, they haven't been paying much attention to the draft for a long time, especially when it comes to QBs.  The bolded QBs are the bonafide great franchise QBs in recent drafts.  The underlined QBs are 2nd tier franchise QBs.   The only #1 overall pick who has become a great franchise QB in this group is Joe Burrow.

2016 - #1 Jared Goff, #2 Carson Wentz

2017 - #2 Mitch Trubisky, #10 Patrick Mahomes, #12 Deshaun Watson

2018 - #1 Baker Mayfield, #3 Sam Darnold, #7 Josh Allen, #10 Josh Rosen, #32 Lamar Jackson

2019 - #1 Kyler Murray, #6 Daniel Jones

2020 - #1 Joe Burrow, #5 Tua Tagovailoa, #6 Justin Herbert, #26 Jordan Love, #53 Jalen Hurts

2021 - #1 Trevor Lawrence, #2 Zach Wilson, #3 Trey Lance, #11 Justin Fields, #15 Mac Jones

2022  - #20 Kenny Pickett, #262 Brock Purdy

The word you are looking for is “Jaded”.  JA is a purple zebra unicorn with a golden horn that ***** rainbows.  There is nobody like him, we are watching true and amazing greatness.  He’s got as big of arm as anyone, is as dangerous running the ball as any QB, is a top 5 passer with throws that literally only he and maybe Maholmes can make mixed into every game, and he’s a level headed, man’s man, that’s as likable as Santa Clause.   To watch anyone in college and compare to that guy, especially at this spot in his career, is utterly ridiculous.

Josh came into the league as a giant question mark and overcame insane odds to become what he is.  You have to look way past what their stats say and look for the potential of special.  That’s obviously insanely tough to predict with any degree of accuracy.   I look at this year’s class and I’ll tell you now I certainly haven’t done anything more than watch some games, not study of any kind, I see a Maholmes/Allen type of potential in Dart and I can also see him being Will Levis.  It’s a crap shoot.  I think Sanders could be sneaky like Daniels, he’s got a similar skill set, though Daniels did it at a higher level of competition.  Cam Ward, man idk what it is? I just don’t like him, I feel like he’s Geno Smith 2.0, but the early version.  I’m probably way off and don’t care, but it’s my .02

That is the best description of Josh Allen I have ever heard or read!!!  Thank you!

Brother in Christ, if you need more evidence that media will write about a flashy story for clicks in the year 2025 I don't know what to say

meh top of the draft guys are a coin flip end of the round guys are rolls of the dice and after about pick 40 it’s lottery tickets

He’s not a bum or anything but he’s more dice than coin

I disagree, Deion brought him attention, but the kid has balled out and can do everything you want in a QB.  The biggest detractor may be Deion now.   If I’m the Giants, I’m taking him and hiring Deion as coach next year.    Daboll is gone anyway, might as well sell tickets.

I think the Giants pass once again at QB and tank for Manning. It had to be the plan all along.

Conversely, if you DO think this is your guy, you don't miss an opportunity to bring him in again. Not overly impressed with him and many have already stated.

The due diligence is well documented in the tweet you posted

THIS!

I also think this is less about the Titans likeing or disliking Shedeur. And more about him trying to pick where he goes. Kind of like Eli. I wouldn't be shocked if they met and Sanders camp said "we're not coming if you draft us".

Sanders isnt good enough to demand where he goes

Bad year to need a QB.

Ward might be good. Big might. Everybody else, seems like they are only getting talked about because the position they play

Kind of reminds me of the year we took EJ.   There was a major publication, Sporting News maybe?, that had Ryan Nassib as the projected #1 pick.  I was hoping for Geno and when he “fell” to us, I couldn’t believe they trade out, then he was still there and they take EJ…. Only to hear the GM saying “it’s a bad year to need one”. Well then DON’T take one in the first round!
