Titans cancel workout with Sanders.

Maybe this is nothing, but I can’t recall something like this happening before.  Even if Ward is there guy, they still went to Sanders pro day.  Why would you not still have the workout and do your due dilligence?

 

To me, this means the competition between Sanders and Ward isn’t even close, which is what a lot of recent rumors have implied.  Some have Sanders and a low 1st round talent.

Or they know all they need and will pick him. BUT... A really good friend of mine is a Raiders fan, and although he says they need a QB to develop, he doesn't want Sanders. I said why?  He said Deion.  I agree with him, whomever takes that kid is going to have to deal with Deion and that might be a bit much.

I truly and honestly think Sanders is only getting this amount of buzz bevause of his dad. Otherwise likely a day 2 pick

I somewhat agree. I think the team got national attention because of Deion, and the son took advantage of it.  That, plus a weak QB class, elevated his status.

I also think this is less about the Titans likeing or disliking Shedeur. And more about him trying to pick where he goes. Kind of like Eli. I wouldn't be shocked if they met and Sanders camp said "we're not coming if you draft us".

 

But I also think there's a nonzero chance that the Giants grab Sanders, Deion is the HC for the 2026 season, and both parties have already talked about it.

Only if Sanders goes in the top 3, which now seems like 50/50 at best.

His career is going to be somewhat telling as to how honest the draft analysts are.  It seems like most in the media are high on Sanders and predict big things.  If he tanks in the NFL well know it’s a lot of media hype

Tells me they are starting to zero in on Ward at 1. If trade back was still an option, would have been smart to at least bring him in as a fall back option and get to know him.

I disagree, Deion brought him attention, but the kid has balled out and can do everything you want in a QB.  The biggest detractor may be Deion now.   If I’m the Giants, I’m taking him and hiring Deion as coach next year.    Daboll is gone anyway, might as well sell tickets.

Somewhat unrelated, but I can’t help but come away unimpressed with any QB prospects nowadays.

 

After watching Josh Allen every week for 5-6 months, everyone’s arm and athletic ability just seems average.  People are gushing over Cam Ward, and to me he just looks meh.

A very possible reason of why he may drop even further. What head coach is going to want that  hanging over their head.

If they’ve already pegged Cam Ward or another prospect as their guy what due diligence other than attending his pro day, watching endless film, and interviewing should they do?

The word you are looking for is “Jaded”.  JA is a purple zebra unicorn with a golden horn that ***** rainbows.  There is nobody like him, we are watching true and amazing greatness.  He’s got as big of arm as anyone, is as dangerous running the ball as any QB, is a top 5 passer with throws that literally only he and maybe Maholmes can make mixed into every game, and he’s a level headed, man’s man, that’s as likable as Santa Clause.   To watch anyone in college and compare to that guy, especially at this spot in his career, is utterly ridiculous.

 

Josh came into the league as a giant question mark and overcame insane odds to become what he is.  You have to look way past what their stats say and look for the potential of special.  That’s obviously insanely tough to predict with any degree of accuracy.   I look at this year’s class and I’ll tell you now I certainly haven’t done anything more than watch some games, not study of any kind, I see a Maholmes/Allen type of potential in Dart and I can also see him being Will Levis.  It’s a crap shoot.  I think Sanders could be sneaky like Daniels, he’s got a similar skill set, though Daniels did it at a higher level of competition.  Cam Ward, man idk what it is? I just don’t like him, I feel like he’s Geno Smith 2.0, but the early version.  I’m probably way off and don’t care, but it’s my .02

I feel like this thread has strong "aged like milk" potential. Everyone seems to be downplaying Sanders, myself included, but he's obviously a very talented prospect. He definitely gets more hype & attention due to his father, but we've seen players with famous pro athlete fathers barely get anywhere, so it's clearly not just that with Sanders.

 

I think the Titans just know who they're taking already. Some people may think they should still do their due diligence & hold the private workout, but the Titans likely  want to respect Sanders' time. Maybe he'll flame out, maybe he won't, but I think I've been a bit too dismissive of him due to disliking his father.
