I get the DT need, but the value for Burch here is huge. Bosa is 50/50 and we have those suspensions looking. I have seen no scouting service rate Burch anywhere near the first round and what I've seen of him (to my unqualified eye) is aligned. What do you see besides a big fast guy? I see the size and speed - maybe he is OK late 2nd where we are talking about him now, but I don't think he warrants going much before this spot (at best). 1 Quote

He seems like you'd be drafting another Rousseau but one that isn't great against the run. Definitely lots of potential but kind of a project at the same time. Quote

Well, I'd rather have Abdul Carter too, but that's not happening. Burch is a solid run defender and uses his athleticism to get to QBs. He seems to be a bit like Rousseau, only shorter and more stout, (tips the scales at almost 280) but moves as if he were much lighter. I just needs to develop more varied pass rush moves and have a plan on setting up blockers. Good coaching can absolutely help him with that. 1 Quote

Poll will close at 2p i want to say I’m surprised to see the Bond love, especially with all his alleged character concerns, but speed leads to total forgiviness it seems. People wanna be the chiefs so bad (I voted for him but didn’t know he had character concerns) Quote
FLFan Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Sorry, but this would be an extraordinarily disappointing draft with what the Bills have done so far. The good news is that I am expecting Beane will outperform this fan draft by quite a bit. 1 1 Quote

But the overall haul in this mock would be a legit disaster IMHO... I can't even imagine how disappointed I would be if that's all the Bills came out of those 3 picks with... Quote

And this is how you build a good team that lacks elite playmakers, which contributes to the failure to reach the SB. Yep... 1 Quote
bigK14094 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Bean will trade up to draft a DT. He will then proclaim a great win as so and so was gonna draft him just before the Bills . I know the song and the lyrics by now. I am thot a fan of these moves, but understand the roster can't digest all those 4,5 6 7 round guys that are drafted. So, why not move up a few nnotches to get the right guy at a need position. Quote

There isnt even anyone I'd be that excited about at 30, let alone beyond. Hoping Beane can find some diamonds in the rough. But I'm already planning on "getting through" the draft and on to OTAs. 1 Quote

I don't think yours was a valid rationale for the reasons given in the response, and just sounded to me like the traditional TSW murder of crows "Beane keeps reaching for position" (which may actually be a valid argument) with no additional explanation, and applying it to what has happened in TSW 1.0 - which really wasn't the case. So that's where you ended up taking the hit for it. The Bills lack of starting-level CB was a factor but not THE factor on Amos - he's widely regarded as a low-first/high-second propect. And Watts is right out. Ok, there's a justification. I liked what I saw on Amos' tape. The comparisons to Elam in an earlier thread, I'll call those lazy as well. The side-by-side highlights looked nothing alike. Amos is physical at the line, fluid in changing direction, and can plaster and mirror. Sorry late reaction but I'm definitely not offended I just don't get it LOL I may be down on Beane right now, there are many things that he's done that I don't like or agree with and I don't feel trey Amos is a 1st round talent now take that with a grain of salt as I'm not a professional draft guru but i watch a ton of college football although Ole Miss was not one of them so I'm basically going off of Youtube highlight videos for him but I'm not a fan of most of the corners deemed "1st rounders" this year I think it's a weak 1st round class for the position imo. Also on Amos, if Beane is being honest then if Amos has a weakness it's in run support which Beane stated was a major part of what they're looking for in a corner unless I interpreted his press conference wrong which I've done before. Again just my 2 pennies on the situation, I do like his size, the fact that he is best in zone coverage and plays physical is a plus. Quote

It's definitely not a top heavy Draft class... It's a poor QB Draft class... But this class is loaded with players who will have long careers as #2's and #3's at their positions on individual teams... From around 20 till around 60 the grades are very similar and there is talent. The WR class is deep with 2's, 3's and 4's...Just not 1's... It's a really good DT and DE class, but again not really star heavy... It's decent at CB and Safety... Decent at O-line... Pretty good at TE... And this is one of the best RB Drafts in recent history. There will be some small school developmental gems late... I actually like this Draft when viewed in the proper perspective... I think as far as the Bills are concerned, because they have fewer real needs, there are some really nice opportunities for Beane... But we'll see... It's all how you look at it I guess... 2 1 Quote

Hairston, I worry more about him on that. I did like the physical traits Amos showed on tape in his ability to run, flip his hips, stay with receivers. His man-cover characteristics would probably be as good as the Bills have. He ticked the boxes at the combine. Would he be the pick if the Bills were set with 2 solid starters, maybe not. It's going to be worth a few points in the decision engine that the Bills have a void at the position. He may not be A-number-1 value at 30 but he's not a reach either.
