Just for contrast, Cook had 21 tds Huge fan of Shakir and even bigger fan of Cook and this is why. Points wins football games and Cook is a scoring machine just waiting to happen that continues to improve in the process. Air, ground, Thurmal warfare 2 baby! The Bills/ Brady need to lean on this scoring machine more, not less. Pay the man Beane head... Edited Thursday at 07:34 PM by Figster 1 1 Quote
Beast Posted Thursday at 10:32 PM Posted Thursday at 10:32 PM Overrated: Oliver/Rousseau Underrated: Curtis Samuel (I think a lot of fans forget about him after his injury filled season but I think he and Allen started to click late last year and a healthy Samuel could be dangerous.) 1 2 Quote

I’m not sure that this is confusing? If you look at him through the lens of the slot, I agree. There are HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS of posts on this board overrating him. He’s a great slot, as is Taron. That’s not as important as someone on the outside (unless you’re Amon-Ra St. Brown). Shakir is a role player, and a good one. He should absolutely, 100% not be the top receiving target on a championship type of team. The Bills have acted if that’s okay to this point. Now, his extension is a good one and commensurate with the level of player that he is. $15M AAV is what a good complementary piece, at a less important position makes. I am in no way disparaging Shakir. He’s a top 10 player on this team and arguably a top 5 player at his position. He’s a great role player. He absolutely has become overrated to Bills fans as was Mack Hollins (who is just a guy) and Ty Johnson who is another quality role player on a good contract. We shouldn’t confuse important pieces with difference makers. Shakir isn’t a difference maker. He’s a rich man’s Beasley. Where would you rank Coleman and Palmer as a boundary duo? I don’t think that they are top 30. Quote

A perfect and reliable outlet for Josh, but he's really just another solid Slot WR. I think Bills fans put him on a pedestal like he's something more than what he really is. And he’s far more explosive but equally dependable as Beasley. With all the available Bills overrated options, I don’t see it. 1 Quote
BananaB Posted Saturday at 01:13 PM Posted Saturday at 01:13 PM Benford is overrated because where he was drafted and because Beane drafted a chump ahead of him. Allen is underrated. Don’t know a player in NFL history who has been asked to do more for his team. Quote
Another Fan Posted Saturday at 05:25 PM Posted Saturday at 05:25 PM I'm going to say for right this second Bass is underrated. He was my biggest worry last off season and he had a pretty solid year overall with some key clutch kicks Quote

I think he might be a tad overrated by fans given we have nobody else dependable right now at the WR position. 1 Quote
stuvian Posted yesterday at 03:12 AM Posted yesterday at 03:12 AM Over rated: Joe Brady: the move to run first cut down on turnovers and reduced contact for Josh. It also relegated our WRs to decoys. They were completely out of synch by the playoffs. Trying to beat the mighty Chiefs by playing turtle ball with no advantage in the power run game was painfully bad strategy. Brandon Beane: It's year eight in the Beane regime. Can anyone name a defensive playmaker we've drafted and developed? Me neither. The best GMs are personnel guys first and finance guys second. Under Rated Sean McDermott: I credit him with the culture change in the Bills. He just keeps winning. James Cook: I'm glad Josh got an MVP but most of our offensive production ran through Cook. The running back position is enjoying a renaissance thanks to the nickel being the base defense for most teams. He was our most reliable receiver last year and is an excellent short yardage runner.
