Underrated - For this year coming up I'm going to say Joey Bosa. Many here already seemingly are writing him off. I'm not. Guy has one year to prove to the NFL that he can stay healthy and be a difference maker as a pass rusher. A lot of these injuries that have kept him off the field are going to be played through this year. He's going to be motivated to wreck games. Plus he's going from playing in front of one of the most laid back and passive fan bases to playing in front of BillsMafia. Players, especially on defense feed off the crowd. He's gonna eat. I'm expecting a solid season from him.

Dawkins footwork and hand fighting has really improved. Every o line man gets beat occasionally. He is pro bowl level and our whole o line works well together. It is amazing how teams like balmer get 10 pro bowlers and we get scraps.

Underrated: Rousseau- I think he is a very good all around DE.  Spencer Brown, too.  Just a year or so ago the TBD pitchforks were out for him.

 

overrated: I don’t have vote here - we are pretty tough fans to please.  Honorable mention to the annual pre-season WR hero.

I've heard all those reasons before. They are repeated almost a a knee jerk pace whenever anyone hints anything negative about Dawkins. Same exact bullet points with zero substance to back it up. 

 

Thing about a thread like this is it's opinion based. You're more than welcome to yours. I'll stick with mine. Like I said, I'm not saying he's a bad player. He's just not as good as many here claim him to be, IMO.

I think you’re making his point (and I like Shakir a lot). He’s a top 5 slot receiver. Bills fans sometimes act like he’s a top 10 receiver. He’s a more explosive Beasley. Shakir is a high end role player. He’s not an elite receiver.

Not really, people think he is exactly who he is. We know he's not an outside receiver. He's an elite slot receiver that comes up big time after time for this team. That's far from overrated.

He is very good!! There are 25 teams that have a better top receiving option than Shakir. That’s not his fault. He’s really good at what he does. He’s still a 76 catch, 821 yard WR that scored 4 times. That’s 40th in yards, 27th in receptions, tied for 62 in TDs, 38th in targets and 84th in YPC. He’s Robin and some treat him as Batman.

He's a slot receiver. 

He is top 5 at his position (as you mentioned). How is that overrated? 

 

You're making a generalization that people think he's an elite outside receiver. No one thinks that. 

 

Similar to Taron Johnson. He's not an outside corner, he's a nickle corner. There are 25 better outside corners than him but not nickles.
