Isn't it kinda weird that they had the topping off ceremony for the last piece of steel, yet when you look at the live cam, it's obvious they still need to place more steel?

That’s because the “topping off” is actually a ceremony where the taxpayer bends over to make the final payment. Hey-ooooo!!

It's the last/highest piece of structural steel, not necessarily the last piece of the stadium being put in place.

It would be funny if it was like the last literal thing, and it happened to be the handicap rail in a toilet, and they had the press conference in the mens room.

I couldn’t get past the first 30 seconds of Glab. I just couldn’t.

At least they didn't have Chris Brown do it.

Traditionally the ceremony signifies the final major beam being lifted into place.

Did they surprise everyone at the end of the ceremony by flying in the dome they've been secretly building?

They did, and then they brought in a couple of trucks and moved the stadium downtown.

This morning I got a text message from a friend who us working on the site

He shared a picture of him and other members writing their names on the final beams

I didnt realize the context until I saw the story. I'm not local.
