It’s funny, but I look at that list and say those places are all over the map! Then I remember how incredibly easy it is to get around Buffalo compared to so many cities. It looks like this year we can spend some more time checking things out.

Yeah I know I did spread him out lol but the Buffalo region is pretty condensed

From my house I can probably hit all of those spots at the closest in 3 to 5 minutes.. the furthest drive for me would probably be hoaks or jays artisan.. and I can still probably get there in 20 minutes

So if you're traveling in the area these are probably all accessible within 10 to 20 minutes

I live in Atlanta, so it takes me a while just to get around “my neighborhood“. I see downtown and the stadium daily going to my grocery store. Seeing it and getting there are two very different things.

Years ago I was staying at the Hampton Inn on Main St in Williamsville for a game. I learned that they had an employee event leaving from the downtown hotel. A built-in tailgate for an out of towner! They had a shuttle take me downtown early on Sunday morning. I will grant you, a Sunday morning, but it was almost spooky to see so few cars! More like a zombie movie than Atlanta, even on a Sunday morning.

Anyway, it was amazing, the people (Marilyn?) were awesome and I nudged my way into taking my son on their employee trip the next year when he turned 16. He was in a boot at the time due to a hoops injury, but when we went to the Creekside and I explained he just turned 16 and I brought him from Florida to see the Bills live at home*. People begged us to visit their tailgates.

That’s Buffalo for you.

*Footnote, he saw them just 2-3 weeks earlier in Tampa. I asked him how the experiences compered. His words were “there is no comparison.”

A therapist we know says there are studies on this, and I have come to agree. She had a friend in Atlanta who bought a new house and moved farther away. They went out to see the new place and have dinner, but she knew the stats say if it’s more than 20 minutes it’s not likely to be a long term thing. That’s about the breaking point.

Places like Lucias on the lake and giancarlos are pretty expensive... Might need a reservation too

I put Lucias in the seafood, but they also have a mean tomahawk and overall great food

Ebenezer ale House for some food and drinks and great wings too!  West Seneca

Brightsmith brewery in williamsville awesome place for food and drinks

So many great places

To add to this:

Now mind you, these are all places that are going to be in East Aurora. We live almost exactly in the middle in between East Aurora and Orchard Park. We ALWAYS make the right out of our driveway and to into East Aurora.

Pizza: For pizza at home, Pizza Del Aurero's. They do have a cool 50's retro sitting area. For dine in, this place has won national awards for being open for only a year. Pizzeria Florian.

Wings: Bar Bill is where all the tourists go. Main and Hamlin is where all the locals go. Their Beef on Weck, Smash Burgers, and Chicken Crunch sandwiches are also amazing, but the star is the Wings.

Fish Fry's are huge here. Wallawines Tavern is a good spot for a really good Fish Fry, but our favorite is Riley Street Station. Crunchy yet most and flakey fish, to go with great sides. The vibe in there is also really great.

My wife and I can't understand this, but the place in East Aurora that is packed the most is Pasquale's Italian. It's good, but not earth shattering, and every weekend you can't find a parking spot for at least a quarter of a mile.

189 Burger (which is owned by Bar Bill) has the best burgers in EA. Really cool industrial vibe when going in. The burgers are top notch.

For fine dining, Rick's on Main is the spot. Really great food with a great atmosphere.

One place that has bounced back and has good bar food is Rookie's Sports Bar. Fun place. They went through a number of ownership changes. The new owners have found a groove with that place.

I grew up and still live in a rural area where everything “civilized” is at least 20-45 minutes away, so traveling to get places is not a deterrent for me 😁

Exactly, it’s one thing to go to museums etc. to fill the time when we have the kids with us, but by ourselves I don’t want to do that stuff. I plan on doing a lot of eating, I’ve never been in buffalo for more than a day, so I want to try more things. Still haven’t had beef on weck, so I’d like to know where I can get the best around!

OK, I don’t want this to get weird, but my wife wore her “Married Into This” shirt just yesterday. I’ve only seen her wear it a couple times since I saw one in London and sent her a pic. She had one for herself and our DIL before I got home. But she never wears tee shirts. Hmmmmm

I have Golden Retrievers to protect me!!!

Yes, that would be very different.

My mother-in-law got the shirt for me when I had my third baby and a “born into this” onesie for him to match LoL

They have a great fan base

When I went down there it was the only place that reminded me of a buffalo tailgate

Friendly people, they offered food and drinks... They were passionate but friendly

I really don't have anything bad to say about the people of KC

Stadium Tours are now open for booking....

Highmark Stadium Tour

I would say doing the stadium tour is a must for any Bills fan.  Especially with this being the last year you will be able to tour the current stadium.  Did it with my old man a couple Summers ago.  Great memories
