Our vacation plans for mid may were postponed so my wife figured we would spend the week in Buffalo and do “touristy Buffalo things.”

For the natives, give me everything and anything that you can do in the middle of May.

I was thinking, stadium tours, Darien lake, hit up all the wing places (I’ve been to duffs but not barbill), Buffalo bisons game, maybe places to walk near the Buffalo riverfront?

any and all feedback is appreciated

If you have time, and a passport, you should check out the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. It’s so much nicer than the American side, and an easy 1/2 hour ride from downtown Buffalo.

It’s loaded with fun “touristy” stuff, restaurants, museums, beautiful gardens and more. Everything is close by and near the Rainbow Bridge. You can park on the American side and walk over the Rainbow Bridge right into the heart of the area.

Are there any bills/Sabres sports stores anywhere in Buffalo (I’m not talking about the store at one bills drive)

Go to Dave and Adams on Sheridan Drive

WNY Collectibles in Tonawanda is an awesome memorabilia shop.  Lot of Bills and Sabres stuff but tons of other cool stuff too...all sports, comics, video games, old Nostalgia items

If you have a passport, is Niagara-on-the-Lake worth the visit? I had a friend in FL who went to visit, and I had to admit I had never been there. He had very positive comments.

Sabres store at KBC is nice, and if you’re looking for local crafters spins of Bills gear, Rustic Buffalo Artisan Market has some nice offerings. Around these parts, pretty much any large supermarket has a respectable amount of team gear.

Forgotten Buffalo tours happen infrequently but if they have one when you're here, it might be worth taking it in. About four hours, it's a pub crawl with food at some of Buffalo's family taverns. http://www.forgottenbuffalo.com/

If you like architecture there is a lot to look at and several frank Lloyd Wright houses that are not the Martin House if you just want to drive by. The sub and battleship on the river are cool. NF is a good pick if you have not seen it, my kids enjoyed it along with us.

The BFLO Store has a lot of Bills clothing for sale. Also Bandits (yes) and Sabres (why?)

If you're in East Aurora for Bar Bill, less than half a mile away is Milliard Fillmore's Birth Place.

Someone mentioned Theodore Roosevelt's Inaugural Site on Delaware Ave. But to get the full experience, Go to Fordham Drive in Buffalo, and in the grassy median is a stone marker, marking the site where President William McKinley was shot.

"In the grassy median of Fordham Drive, five houses west of Lincoln Pkwy. When the weather's warm look for the flowers and little American flags." https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/32297

Edit: After searching on Google Maps, it's 30 Fordham Drive.

Are you into museums? The Buffalo region has a host of museums... Including the Buffalo museum of science... Buffalo transportation Pierce arrow museum cool... Buffalo naval Park, Frank Lloyd wright Martin's House museum, Buffalo Albright Knox art gallery

The botanical gardens

I think there's an underground railroad trail if you're into history...

God there is so much good food in Buffalo I can probably give you a whole another list just for that so if you want some good food places let me know

What are you interested in? Casual pizza and wings? Possibly fresh fish from lake Erie? Good Italian? Good Mexican or there's even some good authentic barbecue

I could give you a list of all but let me know what you like

A lot of stuff at Dave and Adam’s are knock offs now. No idea why but it’s very disappointing.

I wasn't aware of that, haven't been there myself in a few years now but last time I was there they had a lot of good stuff.
