Just Jack Posted April 4 Posted April 4 My first was a bag phone, from Radio Shack, about 1993. Quote
Augie Posted April 4 Posted April 4 (edited) I remember the first time I saw one other than a car version. We were at our son’s tee ball game and there was a VERY pregnant mom who had one, just in case. It stunned me on the spot because it was such a game changer. EDIT: It’s hard to think back and imagine when that was new and strange. Then, a bit later, I saw a guy walking around talking to himself at our tennis club. He was walking and talking and gesturing irritably with nobody else in sight. I wondered if I should look for help before I realized he had headphones to talk on the phone. Fast forward and my elementary school age grandson has one, and with it he has the knowledge of mankind in his pocket. What will we see in the next 50 years? I can’t even imagine, honestly. . Fleezoid Posted April 4 Posted April 4 And with that, the response, "Sorry I missed you call, I was out of town over the weekend",... died! Quote
PastaJoe Posted April 4 Posted April 4 The Batmobile had a phone in the ‘60s. And don’t forget Maxwell Smart’s shoe phone. 1 Quote
